Job description

Responsibilities:

  • The creation, management and growth of relationships with accounts, including department stores and specialty store partners in the US.
  • Advise on, implement, and execute the best processes and procedures to develop and grow the sales component of the business.
  • The conduct of in-store training to facilitate sales of the brand and to gain a clear overview of the business potential per market.
  • Analysis of brand adjacencies, negotiation of floor space and analysis of the general market for additional wholesale opportunities.
  • Responsibility for representing the collections in NYC and LA markets.
  • Responsibility for entering and reviewing orders ensuring strong classification coverage and brand representation per door. Provision of collection recaps, after sales campaigns, addressing collection strengths and opportunities.
  • Determine and budget against strategic forecast.
  • Manage product calendar including turn times and catalogue. Refine and sharpen this model
  • Develop product requirements and communicate product vision for ongoing releases and new product opportunities
  • Develop business plan including range plan, line plan, margin targets and creative briefing
  • Analyze competitive landscape and user segmentation to develop a strong product roadmap
  • Work seamlessly and support e-commerce as important sales and margin driver
  • Work closely with the design and development teams providing strong judgment and direction when making feature/functionality/schedule trade-offs
  • Work closely with creative marketing to develop POP, POS and advertising opportunities
  • Drive product launch strategy, interact with manufacturing, and creative marketing to define these requirements, and coordinate required interaction

The Ideal Candidate

  • 4+ years of experience within the women's designer market.
  • Must have proven contacts and existing relationships with major departments stores (Saks, Barneys, Nordstrom, etc) and specialty boutiques worldwide as well as e-commerce sales relationships with sites such as Gilt Groupe, Shopbop, Net-a-Porter, etc.
  • Track record of establishing accounts and selling through via good customer service in US and overseas markets (Europe, Asia, Middle East)
  • Experience with trade shows in US and Europe (Coterie, Vendome) major plus.
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills
  • Must be a strategic thinker, persuasive and collaborative
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a sales team
  • Ability to understand and explain the brand's needs

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree required; A post-graduate business degree is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to act as a change agent and entrepreneur, which will be evident through a proven track record of business results and market share growth
  • Must be able to create and communicate a clear, inspiring vision and translate that vision into a practical, results-focused action plan
  • Proven ability to define, construct, drive and build successful process and best practices in department store and specialty store markets
  • Must be located in CHICAGO or NEW YORK or willing to re-locate
