Euromonitor Consulting is dedicated to developing deeper partnerships with our clients. The Global Consultant Partnership role is being introduced to help us build on the success of our Principal pilot. This role is based in Chicago and it is designed to help us better engage and deliver on a selected number of accounts among our 20 Corporate Partnership Accounts in business development responsibilities and go deeper within our Principal and GAD account portfolio, this is a role that allows some of our brightest to:
* consistently work with our largest global accounts,
* go deep with clients, know their business and be a real growth partner,
* work end to end, from ideation, solution design to playing a role in execution and delivery,
* get exposure to our global clients goals, challenges and engagements,
* stay cutting edge, client focused and global minded.
The Global Consultant role reports, on a line-management basis, to the Sr Consulting Principal. Day to day activities associated with the role and portfolio of accounts would be coordinated and agreed with Principals and GADs (Global Account Directors), with line management focused on role development, target setting, Principal lite activities, collaboration and delivery of institutional knowledge to our wider organization.
The Global Consultant is responsible for all custom commercial and research activities associated to
their accounts and with support from the Consulting Principals. Global Consultants will work towards the following goals for their assigned portfolio of accounts:
* Become the partner of choice for senior executives, building and executing growth strategies for our most important clients.
* Move away from a project-to-project mentality and towards sustained global partnerships.
* Ensure greater consistency from start to finish for our most important clients.
* Secure higher value projects and renewable revenues which require building Partnerships with a select group of clients.
This is a role that requires keen commercial awareness, openness towards building strong relationships with our clients and internally with our Sales, Syndicated research, Analytics and Technology departments. However, from the outset, this role will require a great deal of communication with Syndicated Global Leads and Senior Consulting Leaders under the guidance of his/her line manager.
Those selected for this role will lead by example and will work towards creating a more transparent, inclusive and collaborative mind-set across our entire organization. We see this role as a critical step towards building future Consulting Principals within our organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The role is designed to deliver on four core areas:
* Client Strategy and institutional knowledge (~10%)
* Partnership Activities (~10%)
* Local Business Development Activities; Global Account Support (~65%)
* Project Support, Oversight and Leadership (~15%)
The percent splits below are meant to be estimates:
* Client Strategy and institutional knowledge (~10%)
* Support the Consulting Principals in partnering with Account Directors and Account Managers to effectively deliver divide and conquer outreach strategies and improve internal strategy documents.
* Access fresh methodologies, specialization materials, recent project examples and new syndicated products/data/analysis and apply these ideas during quarterly account strategy sessions.
* Support sales partners from a consulting and strategic point of view
* Ensure that client strategy concepts and materials are routinely shared out with appropriate stakeholders across the wider global business.
* Work in partnership with Consulting Principals to develop client specific) collateral to reflect partnership and secure renewable revenues. Documents should include those on: client strategy, client playbooks, customized proposal language and standardized deliverables that improve the cohesion and consistency of our services.
* Lead local trainings (Sales, CGBD, and Research) on best practices to ensure that each department has the appropriate level of commercial, methodological and client-specific knowledge to deliver quality. Some internal office travel may be required.
* Output: Support the Principals in enhancing help building account roadmaps (expanded Partnership account portfolio) with clear directions on short, medium and long term goals. A strengthened set of institutional collateral. A better-trained staff and clearer direction on how to work and how to deliver
* Benefit: Improve company strategic role (internally speaking) and better target client contacts for Euromonitor Consulting solutions (externally speaking); Improve our strategic vision in the account with clear view on where to focus our networking effort. Gain deeper knowledge on clients business, steer that knowledge and share best practices with EMI Consulting people.
* Partnership Activities (~10%)
o Support and work closely with the Consulting Principals to coordinate engagements with key decision makers as appropriate. The goals of those meetings will be to:
More deeply understand client business needs from the inside-out and support the client in building a winning strategy. (These meetings should not be about specific project needs. Instead, they should focus on a clients strategy and vision, their pain-points and long-term needs.)
Run Consulting capabilities including relevant case studies when possible/applicable. The Global Consultant should also have a working knowledge of Syndicated contracts and the ebb and flow between the different revenue streams.
Build close relationship (Euromonitor Consulting should be a strategic partner, not a data/reports provider)
Support the Consulting Principals as deemed necessary, on quarterly/biannual/annual client meetings at a senior decision-making level, VP and above, within relevant business/function.
* Benefit: Euromonitor Consulting becomes a real partner to our key account clients: being part of their board/strategic committee as an ambition; Embed EMI Consulting brand as a strategic solution partner (we wont be a data/reports supplier anymore). Build key commercial experience required to progress on our Principal career path.
* Outputs: support and get exposure to key personnel/decision makers and participate in key meetings with a broader team to meet clients short, medium and long term strategic goals
* Local Business Development Activities; Global Account Support (~65%)
* In close alignment with the Consulting Principals, pre-opportunity support Account Directors in meetings to assist in uncovering opportunities and better understanding the organization and its objectives.
* Preparation including preparing materials to facilitate needs assessment calls where applicable, needs assessment calls, solution alignment and revisions of proposals, establishing clear legal and finance processes for engagements.
* Lead and coordinate the proposal writing process and participate in sell meetings with in-person proposal reviews for large or complex projects
* Coordinate with Consulting Principals and Global Account Directors to engage with key client contacts to maintain important relationships
* Follow through post-delivery to explore additional work areas of support with client
* For all Chicago based opportunities: write proposals and deliver on CGBD process for the selected Corporate Partnership accounts
* Ensure global commercial consistency in our pricing and solution offering.
* Outcome: More opportunities, greater integration of our solutions to client needs because of greater time spent per opportunity and improved/more tailored solutions that yield repeat revenues.
* Benefit: The goal will be to increase the number of opportunities on which we are bidding, while bringing the client strategic suggestions for quarterly/biannual/annual meetings regarding hot topics in the industry, insights around their main competitors, new concepts/ideas (products or services) in the market, broader research solutions, etc.
* Project support, oversight and leadership (~15%)
* Active engagement with project team through the life-cycle of projects from proposal to post-delivery including ideation, review of briefs/templates, kick-off and involvement in update meetings, deliverable reviews, mid-point check-ins, and, prior to delivery, rehearsals, and editorial review with appropriate post-delivery follow-up.
* Outcome: More standardized and routine touch points with global studies (regardless of region) to ensure more consistency.
* Benefit: Improved consistency in our outputs, deeper linking of projects to wider client goals and improved leveraging of available knowledge to yield more actionable results. Build experience in supporting and sharpening how our research teams deliver on consulting solutions to our clients.
