The Human Resources Manager is both a strategic and hands-on role that provides full cycle HR support to assigned agencies. The role is critical in executing Eastport Holdings people initiatives, providing great internal customer support, and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement for a multi-site advertising/marketing agency. The HR Manager will also assist in the development of HR policies, procedures, systems and HR Initiatives.

This position will report to the SVP, Human Resources at Eastport Holdings and work with a team of HR Managers and Payroll and Benefits Specialists. This role will be supporting Ten35, headquartered in Chicago, IL.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Executes and implements the administration of company-wide human resources policies and practices.
* Manages recruitment, retention strategies and succession planning process for assigned locations.
* Manages employee relations activities and programs including but not limited to employee counseling, interpretation of policies, and new employee orientation.
* Recommends HR strategies and initiatives to the Eastport HR and assigned agency leadership team that align with agency overall business strategy.
* Bridging agency management and employee relations by addressing issues, aids in job design, organizational structure
* Monitors and remains engaged with employees and supervisors/managers to help keep a pulse on employee morale and employee relations.
* Manages employee performance evaluation and improvement process.
* Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
* Oversees agencys culture and employee engagement activities.
* Assists managers in assessing training needs; work with EH HR team in development of training programs.
* Assists in the communication and implementation of policies and procedures as needed.
* Provides communication to Payroll and Benefits Specialists regarding any new hires, promotions, salary increases, terminations.
* Oversight, management and communication of Eastport-wide initiative (i.e., recruiting, performance management, training, compliance); the development, communication and deployment of these initiatives.
* Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
* Working with EH HR team, maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
* Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience and Qualifications:

* Minimum of 5+ years of related experience as a Human Resource Manager in a advertising/marketing environment. Multi-facility experience is strongly preferred.
* Recruiting/staffing experience for all levels is required. Experience utilizing internet and social media for recruitment is strongly preferred.
* Thorough understanding of all human resources principles and practices, including employment law, EEO compliance, benefits and compliance, recruitment/retention and safety (personnel and facility.)
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
* Strong communication skills (written, verbal and presentation.)
* High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is essential.
* Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, deadline drive environment as well a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Proficiency with various software programs for applicant tracking, performance management and HRIS
* SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desired.
