Position Summary
Scientific Games is seeking a team oriented Human Resources Manager to be based in our Chicago, IL office to lead a team of at least 2 HR professionals and provide support for approximately 500 employees across Chicago, Las Vegas and Reno. Under the direction of the VP of Human Resources, you will leverage your HR expertise by managing and executing all day-to-day Human Resource functions including but not limited to Employee Relations, Performance Management, Workforce Planning and ensuring HR Compliance with federal, state, local and gaming regulations.
Using your superior collaboration and communication skills, you will play an integral part of your assigned business unit team by developing strong credibility and effective working relationships while influencing and guiding leadership at all levels in support of the company business and Human Resources objectives.
Additional Responsibilities:
* Provide education and administration to employees regarding policies and procedures for employee relations, recruitment, hiring, terminations, training, benefits, worker's compensation, payroll, FMLA, and EEO Harassment, etc.
* Support and drive corporate DE&I strategy and recommend initiatives to attract, hire, and retain a diverse workplace
* Partner with leadership on the people strategy for employee engagement, resources planning, employee career development, training, compensation alignment
* Assist in the creation and analysis of reports, decisions, and results of the department in relation to established goals. Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
* Partner with and assist the Compensation team as needed with updates to the compensation program, including compensation recommendations, benchmarking/salary surveys, and updating job descriptions
* Drive and execute other HR related initiatives as required
Qualifications
Required Experience:
* At least 3 years of experience in a Human Resources leadership role
* At least 5 years of experience in MS Office Suite with intermediate level Excel abilities
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
* Previous Global HR exposure and experiences
* Experience working in the Gaming Industry
* Working knowledge of federal, state and local laws regarding employment practices including FMLA, COBRA, HIPPA and ADA and EEOC regulations
* Ability to balance multiple priorities, work under pressure within established time constraints, meet deadlines and objectives, and proactively take a customer service approach to all activities
* Proficiency in Workday preferred
Educational Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
* Human Resources Certification is preferred
Work Conditions:
* May require weekend and evening hours
* May require travel up to 15% of the time to support other locations as needed
* Ability to sit for long periods of time and operate a computer and other office machinery
