The HR Generalist, in conjunction with the Site or Area HR Manager, assists in delivering HR functional support to the facility as an employee advocate, administrative expert and business driver. The HR Generalist will have the opportunity to work within the full scope of generalist activity: recruitment, employee relations, performance management, regulatory and legal compliance, policy administration, and employee training and development in a collaborative, team-based environment to help the facility achieve their Operational Excellence goals.
Major Tasks Include:
* Perform employee recruiting and hiring activities for all site positions: coordinate and administer job postings, bidding processes, movement and outside hiring of employees for all shifts.
* Support Managers and Supervisors in the administration of the corrective action programs to control absenteeism and other disciplinary issues.
* Perform and/or participate in annual wage survey and give recommendations based on the results to the Human Resource Manager.
* Provide and input data for the Site Affirmative Action Plan and conduct quarterly reviews for compliance (Adverse Impact Analysis).
* Provide input and information to assist plant management in understanding current issues and cultural considerations facing our employee population.
* Ensure all administrative and/or clerical functions completed as required, including ensuring that processing all necessary employee and departmental paperwork is appropriately completed.
* Obtain and maintain a working knowledge of all applicable labor contracts (if union facility).
* Maintain above-average knowledge of general state and federal employment compliance requirements.
* Manage HR communications for facility.
* Assist with the investigation of all complaints and conducts all necessary follow up as appropriate.
* Understand and utilize Company benefits and compensation policies and procedures.
* Perform annual open enrollment functions as required.
* Assist and support all HR activities/duties as assigned by HR Manager.
In the absence of a site HR Administrator/Coordinator, the Generalist will be responsible for:
* HRIS data management and maintenance of personnel (e.g., disability, FMLA, timekeeping) and training records.
* Administrative aspects of recruiting (job posting system maintenance, applicant scheduling, pre-hire activities) and employee benefit programs.
* Act as employee advocate through interpretation and communication of policies and procedures, facilitation of employee committees.
Basic Qualifications:
* Must be at least 18 years of age.
* Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment visa status, now or in the future
* Must have a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution or 4 years of work experience.
* Previous experience in database management and record keeping
* Previous experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Power Point)
* Must have at least one (1) year of experience in Human Resources or completion of the Accelerated Development program.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Degree with a major in Human Resources, Organizational/Industrial Psychology, or a related field
* Previous experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment
* Previous experience in a multi-shift 24/7 operation
* Willingness to relocate if considered for promotional opportunities in the future
