Job Description

BASIC FUNCTION:

The Human Resources Manager will work directly with the leadership team of the 1850 Call Center Group and will serve as a strategic partner with a heavy emphasis on employee relations. The Human Resources Manager will assist with the development and implementation of call center policies and procedures and coordinate, direct, and execute human resources functions which include: recruitment, compensation, performance management, training, leave administration, incentives, and employee relations. The Human Resources Manager will assist the Senior Director, Human Resources to ensure operational effectiveness and compliance with employment law.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE WORK OF OTHERS: This position holds no direct supervisory responsibility.

TRAVEL REQUIRED: Less than 5%; metro Chicago and suburbs.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

* Responsible for employee relations issues and leadership training within business unit;
* Partners with employees and management to administer and communicate various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations;
* Maintains legal and ethical compliance with state and federal laws;
* Collaborates with managers and employees to improve work relationships and build morale;
* Conducts internal investigations and interfaces with employees and managers to resolve employment related issues;
* Coaches and advises managers on best practices, policies, programs or processes and how to respond to workplace issues appropriately;
* Facilitates the implementation of systems, programs, tools and processes designed to improve management and employee performance, productivity, engagement and results;
* Maintains Human Resource Information System records with accuracy and timeliness;
* Coordinates employee recognition programs and events;
* Assists with career development and progression plans;
* Assists with administering the compensation program including monitoring the performance evaluation program and recommending revisions as necessary;
* Assists with communicating benefit information to employees;
* Processes and monitors FMLA leaves of absence and other various leaves of absence, i.e. personal non-FMLA related;
* Assists with the equal employment opportunity and affirmative action programs;
* Assists in special agency projects (such as accreditation reviews, audit preparations, strategic planning, etc.) as directed;
* Conducts exit interviews, summarizes findings, and discusses trends and concerns with 1850 Call Center Group Leadership;
* Represents organization at personnel related hearings and investigations;
* Assists in payroll processing for weekly and semi-monthly paid employees;
* Keeps abreast of new developments and regulations in the Human Resources field including: maintaining current knowledge by participating in webinars, seminars and workshops;
* Able to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality and professional discretion;
* Other duties as assigned by Senior Director, Human Resources.

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field and three years of Human Resources experience, or a master's degree in Human Resources or a related field and two years of experience in Human Resources;

* PHR and/or SHRM-CP certification preferred;
* Employee relations experience in a call center environment strongly preferred;
* Demonstrated experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced atmosphere;
* Superior communication, interpersonal and organizational skills;
* Must be able to handle multiple projects and priorities;
* Experience with Human Resources Information Systems and applicant tracking systems preferred including Microsoft Word and Excel and database software;
* Proven ability in areas of problem solving, independent decision making, and conflict resolution;
