Job description

Madison Street Capital, LLC., (MSC) is a specialized investment banking firm that provides mergers & acquisitions, advisory, financing and valuation services to public and private businesses. The firm focuses on representing privately held companies in the lower to middle market who are seeking to raise funds for their Companies via debt and/or equity channels and sell-side advisory services. MSC provides services to public companies through its wholly owned subsidiary MSC-BD, LLC., a registered broker-dealer and FINRA/SIPC Member.


MSC is growing its Mergers & Acquisitions/Corporate Finance practice and is looking for an Associate to work within our Transactional Group. The Associate will work on a variety of duties within the firm, primarily working with Managing Directors on a variety of corporate finance transactions, including merger and acquisition advisory, sourcing of equity and debt capital, and other strategic services to corporate clients.


Responsibilities:

  • Direct and substantial interaction with clients, lenders, investors, private equity, and venture capital firms;
  • Potential to have significant participation during deal structuring and negotiation;
  • Be a significant part of high deal volume activity;
  • Develop executive documentation and management presentations;
  • Gather client industry information from research sources including firm provided databases, the Internet, trade publications, and periodicals;
  • Use research and financial analysis to conduct due diligence, financial modeling, writing offering memorandums and two page teasers, building potential buyer lists, and work on other assigned special projects;
  • Traveling occasionally to client locations, as needed.


Qualifications:

  • Excellent financial modeling skills, specifically Excel;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Minimum 4-year college degree with an emphasis in Finance, Accounting, or Economics, MBA preferred;
  • Minimum 3 years experience in investment banking, private equity, or corporate M&A;
  • Demonstrates an understanding of financial statement analysis, the merger & acquisition process, and company valuation techniques (discounted cash flow analysis, public company multiples, transaction multiples);
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage rapidly changing assignments;
  • Genuine passion and dedication to grow with the firm and take ownership over projects and responsibilities.


Compensation is determined based on experience and is inclusive of a performance based component.


Job Type: Full-time

Base Salary: $65,000.00 to $75,000.00 / year plus additional bonuses
