Kira Systems has won numerous awards and recognition including being named a Gartner 2016 Cool Vendor, shortlisted for ILTA's 2016 Innovative Solution Provider of the Year, and named 2016 Knowledge Management Software of the Year by Legaltech News.What you'll be working on: This is a unique opportunity to be the "heart and soul" of our system's ability to automatically identify provisions and other information of interest in a wide variety of legal and other documents. We are constantly working to expand the number of provisions and fields of information our system can find. Thousands of professionals (lawyers, accountants, consultants) use our system to quickly find information in contracts. Your work will make a big impact on helping them do so faster and more accurately.You'll be leading a team of attorneys who use our cutting edge automated document review software to teach our system to automatically identify and highlight key information in corporate and transactional documents (including, among others, finance documents, M&A agreements, commercial contracts, real estate documents and corporate organizational documents). Experience in drafting, negotiating and managing some of these types of legal documents is a plus, as is the ability to quickly learn new technologies.We would prefer your being in (or willing to move to) Toronto, but will consider candidates located elsewhere.Key RequirementsProject management skills - ability to organize projects and coordinate team membersSubstantive knowledge relating to financing agreements and other banking and finance-related documentsEffective communication skillsHigh quality substantive expertise, and hold a law degree from an accredited law schoolAuthorized to work in Canada (preferred) or the USResponsibilitiesManage a team of attorney annotatorsIn response to customer feedback and needs, identify provision models and/or attributes for attorney annotators to train new provisionsSubstantively review attorney annotators' workAdvise attorney annotators and and-sometimes-our customers on best practices for training KiraWork with other teams to arrange for developed provisions to be releasedUpdate best practices for training provision models as neededSound good?We want to hear from you.
