As a valued colleague on our team, you will provide expert advice to team members and lenders on overseeing all aspects of loan quality and compliance with related requirements, as well as consult on implementing best practices in loan manufacturing and delivery.
THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE
The Mortgage Quality Control Specialist - Lead Associate role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:
- Evaluate loan quality for lenders' deliveries to the enterprise using internal reports of aggregated data.
- Apply credit management models to current assets or underwritten products to understand shifts in quality or process to mitigate credit risks.
- Lead collaboration efforts with team and lenders to identify root causes in areas where manufacturing and loan quality improvements are needed.
- Review and make recommendations to management on lender quality control plans and procedures to ensure compliance with evolving regulatory landscape and internal policies.
- Deliver industry training on quality control standards and best practices and may also assist with developing training curriculum and/or materials.
THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM
Minimum Required Experiences
4 years related experience- Prior experience performing mortgage quality control and/or underwriting for mortgage loans. Needs to understand the loan manufacturing and QC processes.
- Prior experience creating policies, evaluating compliance, and recommending changes to improve loan quality.
- Influencing skills - Ability to provide insights and influence lenders regarding their loan quality, processes and enhancements needed. Skilled at negotiating, persuading others, facilitating meetings, and resolving conflict.
- Analytical skills - Ability to analyze data to identify trends and discover patterns or relationships to inform conclusions about the data.
- Excellent communication skills required. Can clearly articulate messages to lenders and colleagues.
- Able to interact respectfully with others and work cooperatively towards a common goal.
- Ability to work well independently and manage their priorities effectively.
- Skilled in Excel and Tableau.
- Experience using Fannie Mae Desktop Underwriter.
Desired Experiences
Bachelor's degree or equivalent- Prior experience developing and facilitating training is strongly preferred.
- Skilled in using Collateral Underwriter (CU).
