Position Description:

We are seeking an experienced Packaging Professional who will be responsible for managing packaging needs and ensuring that packaging (including labelling) projects are begun and executed in a clear, precise, and timely manner. This position will also be responsible for pricing negotiations, creating purchase orders, order tracking and management, and for driving improvement in all aspects of the packaging process.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Inventory management.
• Research and collaborate cost-effective, quality vendors and suppliers.
• Meets goals for margin, and other packaging measurements.
• Maintain spec information on all items, including lead times.
• Perform packaging consumption forecast.
• Aptitude for machinery as it pertains to their area.
• Needs to work with departments including maintenance, sales, production and marketing.
• Works closely with the packaging team and leads crew.
• Training and scheduling of packaging team.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or a minimum of two year experience and/or training within the packaging industry or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills with emphasis on Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to understand and interpret operating data such as packaging metrics (output), budget, safety, and quality (GMPs).
• Two (2) years of full supervisory experience.
• Management experience in a cGMP environment or closely related field strongly preferred.
• Strong negotiating skills.
• In-depth knowledge of the packaging industry.
• Ability to set up, breakdown, operate, clean, perform necessary maintenance, and troubleshoot necessary repairs.
