The Position

Slate Asset Management is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our new North American private equity debt fund based out of our Chicago office. This business vertical was established from the recent portfolio acquisition from Annaly Capital Management, securing its commercial real estate business for a total purchase price of $2.3B (USD).


This individual will be responsible for all aspects of the financial reporting & analysis function and assist in developing new processes and workflows for the platform. Periodic travel may be required across North America. The Senior Financial Analyst will join a small team with direct mentorship and exposure to senior leadership. Beyond analytical capabilities, Slate is looking for individuals who demonstrate an ability to work well in a dynamic, creative, and entrepreneurial environment and are looking to grow and add value to the company in the long term.


Responsibilities

  • Preparation of financial statements and MD&A
  • Promote calculation for investor NAV statements
  • Treasury and cash management
  • Analysis of the operating performance of real estate assets
  • Maintenance of loan and debt securities portfolio
  • Bank reconciliation and journal entries
  • Debt covenant compliance
  • Coordination with internal team members, third-party service providers, and auditors


Qualifications and Experience

  • CPA designation
  • 2-4 years of industry and/or public accounting experience
  • Exposure to financial reporting under US GAAP
  • Advanced skill level with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Self-motivated individual with a high level of attention to detail
  • Strong team player with exceptional work ethic
