Job description

We're seeking a Systems Reporting Specialist - Digital Health for a FTE opportunity located in Chicago, IL. Position will be hybrid (remote/onsite).

Overview

As organization undergoes a digital transformation to improve patient and provider experience, there is a new set of reporting skills, operational reports, and a dedicated effort to deliver reporting under quickly evolving efforts. This candidate would need to understand the operational processes of the ambulatory and inpatient clinical setting to effectively design reporting processes that allow for display of the leading metrics across an operational workflow. The data will provide a critical piece of the implementation as we would transition these reports into performance management programs where we can define expectations to reach operational efficiencies and further demonstrate the success of the digital health programs to improve patient and provider experiences. The transformation is inclusive of digital front door activities to improve patient access, telemedicine activities to increase the modalities of care, remote patient monitoring programs through Care Companion within Epic to provide longitudinal patient engagement, and provider-based solutions to improve provider efficiency and satisfaction.

Assesses the institution's reporting needs and develops reports and data extracts according to an overall reporting management strategy. Participates in defining and maintaining a reporting management strategy that is non-duplicative, secure and standards-driven, and that anticipates institutional needs.

Responsibilities

1. Designs, builds and maintains reports using Epic's Clarity system and data warehouse, Crystal Reports and SQL.

2. Develops stored procedures and views as necessary.

3. Maintains report schedules and user security on the Business Objects application.

4. Designs and develops extracts from Epic's Chronicles database and Epic Reporting Workbench.

5. Develops dashboards and data visualizations using Microsoft Business Intelligence Tools, Power BI, SharePoint and SSRS.

6. Analyzes and assess institutional reporting needs.

7. Gathers requirements of individual users and requests.

8. Inventories and analyzes existing reports. Coordinates reporting to minimize duplication and reduce inventory.

9. Participates in completing documentation of data structures, data conversions.

10. Adheres to HIPAA regulations for Transactions, Security and Confidentiality.

11. Performs job functions adhering to service principles with customer service focus of innovation, service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to our patients, families, co-workers and others.

12. Collaborates in iterative design process with users.

13. Works independently on complex projects, seeking assistance or guidance when needed.

14. Takes responsibility for design choices and deadlines.

15. Other job functions as assigned.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related training required.

2. Minimum of three years of experience writing reports and/or data extracts required.

3. Prior experience in a healthcare setting preferred.

4. Demonstrated strong business and data analysis skills; Crystal Reports & SQL query writing skills.

5. Experience with Business Objects; knowledge of data structures.

6. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.

7. Strong written and oral communication skills.

8. Ability to prepare documentation with generally recognized standards. Working knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft Windows OS and applications.

9. Ability to conduct work on multiple projects with minimal direction and supervision.

10. Ability to maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality relating to employee/patient and hospital.

11. Certified in Clarity Data Model and at least one Clarity module.
