Job description

Quality Engineer 1 Salary $50,000-70,000 BOE

To provide support to Quality and Continuous Improvement Manager, and the organization, by managing the maintenance/flow of the quarantine area, ensuring control of discrepant product/material, generation of quality documentation (Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEAs, Control Plans), assistance in the development of Mfg. Work Instructions & Inspection Plans, and supporting the CAPA & SCAR system. Additional responsibilities include supporting PPAP activities, leading problem-solving meetings in regards to concerns, assisting with internal audits and compliance audits, assistance in maintenance of calibration system, and assistance in the execution of all policies, practices, and procedures pertaining to the organization's Business Management System.


Job Description

· Attend / provide input during daily MRB. Includes the review and disposition suspect/nonconforming product/material, including providing input to the CAR/SCAR system. Leads MRB meeting in the absence of the Quality Engineer II & Quality Manager.

· Assist in coordinating customer and vendor returns (RMA) and rework processes, as required.

· Assist in the maintenance of the CAPA and SCAR system

· Champion Root Cause Analysis for internal concerns.

· Generating Process Flow Diagrams, Process Failure Mode & Effect Analysis, Control Plans, FAI, Capability Studies, GR&R, etc. for new and existing products.

· Create, edit (as needed), and maintain part specific Work Instructions, part specific Quick Inspection Logs, and Quality Alerts.

· Perform regular GEMBA Walks on running jobs to validate operators are following Manufacturing WIs and operators are listed in Training Matrix. Receive feedback from manufacturing personnel to continually improve part specific processes and flow.

· Identify and lead continual improvement projects that will strengthen quality related standards and the Business Management System. Maintains customer audits and standards that are developed and set through CI projects (ex.5S).


Job Qualifications

· High School Diploma or GED required, 2-year degree a plus, minimum of 3 years demonstrated expertise in a quality environment.

· Minimum of 3 years of quality experience in ISO 9001 and AIAG Core Tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA.

· 1 year experience as an internal auditor for ISO 9001 is a plus.

· Print reading with knowledge in GD&T.

· Demonstrated experience using micrometer, calipers, and digital comparator; CMM and FARO knowledge is a plus.

· Minimum 3 years' experience in a plastic injection molding required; experience in assembly environment preferred.

· Minimum 2 years' experience using an ERP system required; IQMS knowledge a plus.
