Job Summary:
The Category Manager (Corporate) leads the procurement efforts for services and goods for various corporate groups, including IT, Finance, HR and Sales. The incumbent will also support ongoing centrally managed services such as Travel spend and P-Card.
Promotes the CF procurement and materials control organization by supporting the strategic direction of the company-wide function, all appropriately integrated with relevant business functions. The incumbent will demonstrate leadership in identifying and implementing best practices in all procurement processes and builds supportive internal and external relationships within the procurement organization and individual business stakeholders.
The CF Procurement Team supports nine manufacturing (9) sites in North America and the UK, the Corporate Office and its distribution facilities.

Strategic Responsibilities:
- Supports the "One Company" philosophy in all procurement initiatives.
- Manages continuous engagement with the stakeholder community in the procurement process and category management.
- Manages key supplier relationships in conjunction with stakeholders to increase alignment and value generation between the supplier and CF.
- Leads the development of an enhanced category management approach including implementation of KPIs and strategic sourcing processes for specified goods and service categories.
- Facilitate improvement in category management results across the various CF sites, for those corporate services which also support the sites, such as IT and HR.
- Leverages strong project and change management skills to drive continuous improvements for the corporate procurement process.
- Introduces innovative strategies to the category, including but not limited to commercial vision, contracting, materials, training and commercial.
- Contributes to the development and execution of the risk management plan that addresses key risks in category management, contract management, services, supplier management and procurement processes.
- Supports compliance to the procurement process at Corporate and increases involvement of procurement in alignment with the various business groups.
- Supports the procurement team to deliver to the long term and annual goals of the procurement function in alignment with the business and site-specific plans.
- Participates in the long-term strategic plan and the annual goal setting process addressing the key areas of cost, safety, risk, reliability, continuous improvement, technology adoption, supplier innovation and service.
- Understands and leverages knowledge of the Company's and competitor's products, industry trends, and superior business practices, and integrates the same into procurement operations in ways that achieve competitive advantage.
- Manages key contracts and ensures compliance to the contract management process.
- Analyses category and procurement spend and trends to drive strategic opportunities.
- Participates in early planning of corporate initiatives and projects with key stakeholder groups such as IT and HR.
- Develops and executes sourcing strategies for assigned categories that increase productivity, improve supplier performance, and reduce costs.
- Manages spend for indirect corporate procurement for goods and services.
- Ensures on-going efficiencies of the procurement functions by reporting quarterly on the progress being made with regards to the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Ensures and initiates implementation of all procurement related policies, procedures, practices, and process improvements.
- Promotes change management as required.
- Participates in and promotes the work of CF Category and Improvement teams.
- Supports centrally managed procurement functions such as Fleet Management, Travel, Purchasing Card Management, and Amazon BusinessPrime..
- Drives process standardization and optimization in procurement strategies as well as within the areas of supplier management, risk management, supplier qualification and the procure-to-pay process.
- Leads the sourcing process, including managing proposals, developing proposal recommendations, negotiating the final contract and creating and executing supplier transition plans.
- Issues contract releases and purchase orders and expedite materials and services as needed
- Manages the administration of the supply base to include: introduction of new suppliers, evaluating supplier performance, managing insurance requirements, and ensuring required training is completed.
- Manages appropriate supply and service agreements, and facilitate any necessary improvements to increase accuracy, visibility and productivity and to ensure compliance to the contract management process and any applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
- Segments supply base on the basis of impact and implements supplier performance management and continuous improvement process accordingly with appropriate KPIs and governance.
- Bachelor's Degree required preferably in Business, Supply Chain, or other related disciplines.
- MBA is desired but not essential.
- Six or more years of experience in procurement, supply chain, contract management or other commercial experience.
- Certification in procurement or supply management desirable.
- Good understanding and experience with procurement category management.
- Strong contract negotiation skills, ability to drive favorable terms and conditions.
- Experience with business data analytics and reporting, defining requirements and providing actionable conclusions.
- Experience in supplier relationship management and supplier performance management.
- Experience in management of corporate services and IT contracts desirable.
- Demonstrated adaptive, strategic, resilient and growth leadership mindset.
- Experience in developing and/or working with current digital procurement solutions.
- Track record of delivering substantial results in a complex organization.
- Experience in managing strategic relationships with external suppliers.
- Excellent technical knowledge of good procurement practice including negotiation, demand management, supplier qualification, sourcing, bidding and contracting, supplier performance management and risk management.
- Knowledge of SAP, ARIBA and other procurement systems.
The Category Manager, Corporate Procurement promotes strategic and operational guidance in key areas of product and commodity category management, company-wide volume aggregation, process standardization and control, supplier performance management, and the development of cost saving synergies.
Corporate expenditures are approximately $50 million relating to the acquisition of, services and other areas of spend.
This is an individual contributor position.
