Abbott Molecular Our Des Plaines, IL headquarters has an opportunity for a Principal Professional Quality - Supplier Quality.
The Principal Professional Quality is responsible for conducting quality-related activities with key Abbott Molecular suppliers and third-party manufacturers (TPMs) to deliver consistent, high quality documents, services, products, and processes.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
You will manage supplier quality relationships with key suppliers. You'll develop quality related strategies for major projects, including process improvements, margin improvements, and efficiencies within supplier processes as related to Abbott product.
You will act as the liaison between Abbott Molecular and suppliers for issue investigation and resolution, including troubleshooting, technical problem-solving, and solution development. You will facilitate providing solutions to a wide range of difficult problems that are compliant, innovative, thorough, practical and consistent with organizational objectives.
As part of this role, you will work closely with technical, complaint resolution, supply chain, planning, and risk evaluation teams within Abbott Molecular to determine any impact to Abbott product for supplier changes, issues, and improvements.
You will serve as a leader, key stakeholder, or team member on cross-functional teams relating to products sourced from suppliers. You will demonstrate exceptional communication and influencing skills within the organization and with key suppliers. You will demonstrate a strong working knowledge of design controls and impact assessment of changes at suppliers with regards to product performance, safety, efficacy, and regulatory status.
ACCOUNTABIITY:
Responsible for ensuring compliant documentation in cross-functional areas of support.
Carries out tasks with management guidance, typically is responsible for decision making.
Decisions have long term impact, aligned with the organizational strategy.
Provides input into developing departmental and site processes and procedures.
Independently manages and consults in multiple complex projects working with stakeholders to define business questions, requirements, timelines, objectives, and success criteria to address needs.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE, YOU'LL BRING:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Life Science, Engineering or closely related discipline is required OR relevant
combination of education or experience.
Minimum 8 years work experience in Quality or related filed experience.
Successful cross-functional projects and driving positive compliance outcomes
Experience:
With an Advanced degree plus 4-6 years' work-related experience
Preferred:
Masters or PhD Degree is preferred
Experience with molded consumables and suppliers is preferred
Experience with on-site supplier support is preferred
TRAVEL:
Position will have up to 50% travel within the US.
