Job Description
The Human Resources Managerserves as the primary HR business partner for the Elk Grove production facility by providing HR guidance and support to Plant Management and employees at all levels. As a member of the plant's management team, this role contributes to the team's effectiveness and overall business strategies and direction.
The Plant Human Resource Manager will report to the Division HR Director and work closely with HR colleagues responsible for other division locations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as a strategic HR advisor to the plant
- Own local workforce planning and recruitment activities for all exempt and non-exempt positions
- Serve as an employee engagement champion and support engagement and D&I strategies within the plant
- Provide talent management expertise for the plant including development planning, succession planning, leadership development, and training consultation
- Consult and advise plant leadership on organizational design to enable business to grow and operate effectively
- Investigate and advise on employee relations and disciplinary matters
- Develop and administer job evaluations, salary ranges and annual merit review processes, using relevant market data as needed to maintain competitiveness
- Provide training and support to leaders on topics including performance management, engagement, employee relations and compliance matters
- Support employee concerns related to wellness, benefits, and payroll; manage all FMLA, STD, ADA and Worker's Compensation cases
- Performs other incidental and related duties as assigned by supervisor or ITW Corporate Human Resources. Aids other ITW units and locations as requested.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent required. Master's preferred.
- 5-7 years of progressive HR experience, preferably within a manufacturing site or similar environment
- Experience in all facets of human resources including knowledge of recruitment processes, leave and compensation administration, performance management, employee relations, and legal compliance requirements.
- Exceptional communication & influencing skills
- Strong PC skills/aptitude. Intermediate in Office programs and HRIS experience required to analyze data and make sound business recommendations
- Ability to develop and implement complex change strategies within a changing business environment
- Strong intrinsic motivation, positive charisma and high degree of personal integrity, reliability and identification with the Company
