Job description

The HR Manager defines, develops and executes strategic initiatives and activities of Human Resources. Has responsibility for all aspects of HR for the Granite City plant including, but not limited to employee relations, the Value of the Person culture, employee development, performance management, disability and time and attendance. The individual selected will serve as a strategic partner to the Director of Human Resources and the Vice President of Operations and will be a key member of the core leadership team.

Selection Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • Knowledge of Human Resource activities including employment processes concerning recruitment and orientation, collective bargaining, benefits administration, affirmative action, job analysis, equal employment opportunity practices, labor relations, grievance resolution, Human Resource policies and other applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Significant knowledge of labor laws, and collective bargaining
  • Computer software applications.
  • Have the ability to travel and execute assignments as needed to assist the Director of Human Resources.
  • Excellent managerial and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to direct and motivate people, work well in a team environment, strong organizational skills, responsible, self-motivated, provide recommendations to enhance operations and facilitate growth for the organization through employee involvement. Sound judgment and leadership abilities are essential.
  • Minimum of eight years of experience in Human Resources including administering a collective bargaining agreement, grievance resolution, employment law, and Human Resources Management required.
