Vice President, Commercial Sales

The VP, Commercial Sales will be responsible for leading and developing the territory sales team for Southern California, Arizona and Nevada. This position requires the development and execution of the overall sales strategy for the region resulting in achieved objectives and sales growth. In addition, the VP, Commercial Sales will drive collaboration between internal stakeholders including other territory managers, marketing teams and customer service to ensure a consistent and positive customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a thorough understanding of the Company's overall business direction, its mission, and operating strategies.
  • Responsible for translating Diamond W' s overall direction and objectives into a regionalized marketing plan encompassing and implementing strategic sales plans and forecasts to achieve objectives for region.
  • Meets regional sales financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Lead, motivate and develop a regional sales team to set sales strategy & vision and prioritize opportunities, primarily focusing on selling activities to contractors, A&D community and end users.
  • Maintain and expand customer base by driving collaboration and partnerships with flooring contractors, the A&D community and end users to achieve market share, gross margin and key account growth targets to achieve strategic development of the market.
  • Evaluates sales trends and research to adjust sales strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
  • Monitors competitor sales and marketing activities.
  • Reviews and analyzes sales performances against programs, quotas and plans to determine effectiveness.
  • Provide monthly sales and market updates for regional leadership and support teams, including competitive activity, product trends, promotional activity and progress toward KPIs.
  • Execute sales blitzes and product launches.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with key internal stakeholders including other sales managers, territory managers and marketing and customer service in order to execute outstanding experiences for customers.
  • Represent Company in a professional manner when engaging contractors, architects, design firms or end-users.
  • All other duties as assigned.


Desired skills and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or other related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of sales management experience in commercial flooring with demonstrated success in leading and coaching sales team(s)
  • Exceptional strategic skills with ability to build and execute a business plan
  • Knowledge of the healthcare, education and multi-unit housing segments a plus
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office) and experience with CRM
  • Able to train others on products and processes
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Overnight travel is required (25%-50%)
