GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Responsible for volunteer recruitment, orientation, training, placements and supervision in Will, Kankakee and Grundy County.

2. Responsible for monitoring and processing volunteer timesheets and case notes.

3. Other duties as assigned within the guidelines of this position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Provides ongoing support and supervision to volunteers ensuring that all volunteers follow established program policies and procedures.

2. Coordinates and facilitates pre-service orientation and in-service instruction of volunteers.

3. Informs Program Manager of any challenges, problems, or concerns in a timely manner.

4. Review and approve volunteer timesheets, ensuring that they are ready for monthly data entry.

5. Maintains program records to ensure compliance with agency, funding source and accreditation standards; ensures program data integrity is maintained and monitored.

6. Maintains ongoing contact with volunteers and assigned long term care facilities.

7. Represents the agency and provides information about and promotes program volunteer opportunities through active participation with community agencies/organizations; maintains cooperative working relationships with a variety of community organizations and agencies.

8. Assists in the formal and regular recognition of volunteers, organizations and individuals who have contributed support to the Program.

9. Accurately maintains appropriate computer database and volunteer file records.

10. Maintains awareness of current information on programs and services available to older adults and persons with disabilities.

11. Attend staff meetings, conferences and training programs as recommended by supervisor.

12. Must successfully complete Ombudsman Level I and II training within two months of hire or as soon as available.

13. Completes required recertification per program guidelines.

14. Completes annual hours of required in-service training to maintain program certifications and remain current on relevant information and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

1. A Bachelor's degree in a human service related or business field or a Bachelor's degree and three (3) years relevant experience. All degrees must come from a regionally accredited educational institution which has U.S. Department of Education approval.

2. A minimum of one (1) year of experience in human services, volunteer management, advocacy or similar environment; experience with older adults or disability services preferred.

3. Ability to relate well to older individuals and persons with disabilities respecting their privacy, dignity and right to self-determination.

4. Ability to respond to both common or sensitive inquiries and complaints from residents, their families, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.

5. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and constructively with persons from all racial, diverse cultures, family systems, and social backgrounds.

6. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Teams.

7. Strong verbal and written communications skills.

8. Passage of complete background clearance, physical and Tuberculosis (TB) Test.

9.
