Ecolab is seeking a Senior Lab Technician in Joliet, IL! This role is responsible for analytical testing that will be used in the development of new product specifications. In this position you will perform quality testing, maintenance, and calibrations of the instruments in addition to assisting in the development of new test methods as needed.

What You Will Do:
* Perform reagent preparation, reagent standardization, method assurance, and method performance evaluations as required and outlined in the each Quality Assurance Test Method (QATM) used by the laboratory. Document all test results in accordance with current Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and report all discrepancies
* Perform and document finished product retained sample evaluation, which includes batch, bulk retained samples
* Test and evaluate use of salvage / rework material before its introduction into new production batches
* Perform and document periodic calibration and maintenance of all laboratory equipment. Also document any repair or modifications made to any of the laboratory equipment
* Monitors stock (quantity and expiration date) of and may order lab supplies.
* Maintain batching system recipes and hard copy QC sheets
* Setup methods on vendor software (HPLC, auto-titrator, AA, IC, GC, Minolta, etc)
* Review batch records and release EPA and FDA regulated products from ECO and CAS
* Participates as a team member to lean six sigma and other special projects
* Performs training of new lab associates
* Generates ideas on new ways of doing business to improve lab efficiencies
* Perform other duties as required.
* Position Details:
Plant location: Joliet, IL
Work week and shift: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM Rotating Schedule (2 on, 3 off; 2 on, 2 off; 3 on, 2 off)
Minimum Qualifications:
Laboratory or quality control experience in related industry.
Willingness to assume new responsibilities and activities.
Ability to work different shifts and overtime to meet manufacturing needs.
Associates Degree/coursework in related field (e.g. lab technician program college coursework in mathematics or chemistry).
Preferred Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
* Laboratory Technician experience in a related industry.
* Microsoft Office, Access, Excel, MRP Software, and strong familiarity of Window's based programs.
* Background in chemical plant safety.
* Knowledge of basic statistical principles.
