In this role, the qualified individual will be expected to:

Perform conceptual and detailed HV and MV Substation Physical/Electrical design for medium to large scale utilities/substations (including basic layout, electrical arrangement, one line, three line drawings, plan-section, grounding, AC and DC system drawings)
Perform advanced engineering studies and calculations
Perform Quality Control reviews on medium to large substation physical design projects
Create and review bill of materials for substation physical projects
Develop and review proposals, and scopes of work for substation physical projects
Develop and provide advanced technical presentations to the team to assist with staff technical development
Be involved in client interaction (including site visits) with a drive for customer satisfaction
Provide mentorship to junior engineers
Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with the internal teams and clients to meet project objectives
Perform as a subject matter expert on AIS and/or GIS substation physical design
Act as a key contributor to develop substation physical application documents to define design scope, philosophies, methodologies, and criteria for medium and high-voltage substation projects.

What you will bring to the table:

12+ years of Substation physical design /lead and/or physical construction support experience.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, civil or related degree
Comprehensive understanding of the utility grid ( power generation, transmission and distribution) system
Comprehensive understanding of industry standards (including NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE/ANSI) and their application to projects
Experience with advanced engineering studies and calculations ( lighting, grounding studies, Arc Flash, AC and DC load studies, voltage drop, lightning studies and protection)
Experience with HV and MV Physical Electrical Design for medium to large scale utility substations(Including Electrical Layout, Design and Specification for :-DC Systems - Station Service, Battery, DC Panels and Switchgear, Chargers, ATS, MTS AC Systems - AC Station Service, AC Panels and Switchgear, AC Transformer Auxiliary Power, Major material)
Registered Professional Engineer ( P.E.)

It would be nice if you had:

Master's degree in related field
Working knowledge of protection and control design
Experience with bus calculation
Experience with WinIGS or CDEGS
