Job description

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Product Development Engineer with mechanical engineering experience to join our team at Navistar. In this role, you will lead the design, development, validation, and implementation of HVAC systems and components.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Create design concepts and validation plans to meet program, system, and component requirements

Create and release designs NX and Navistar systems

Utilize industry standard engineering quality tools, such as APQP, to ensure designs are robust

Manage all project aspects from concept through launch within the context of larger programs

Serve as a central resource with design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing as the product(s) move to production and distribution

Provide direction and guidance to less experienced team members

Basic Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology

At least 2 years of experience in product design/development

OR

Master's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology

Additional Requirements:
Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)

Desired Skills:
Ability to create 3D models and 2D drawings in Siemens NX and Teamcenter

Experience releasing design and interfacing with procurement functions and suppliers

Ability to manage assigned work within a phase/gate program manage process

Ability to create detailed, task-oriented work plans when given moderate levels of assignment definition and instruction

Understanding of APQP or similar product develop processes and disciplines

Comfortable working in a cross-functional team environment
