Summary:

This position focuses on machined plastics business development and plant operations support. The Business Development Representative is responsible for identifying and developing engineering intensive, commercial/sales activities within targeted regional accounts & markets, working in conjunction with plant support personnel and Vice President of Business Development. The position will establish and maintain a close relationship with plant personnel, aiding in the creation and maintenance of a world class production operation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Identify, target, and develop target opportunities and /or accounts, as well as developing and implementing a strategy to create new manufacturing opportunities that meet or exceed 5 year sales dollar volume plan.
  • Work with customers' technical/engineering groups to develop new products within the machined plastic capabilities.
  • Responsible for assuming ownership of assigned customers to ensure that positive customer relationships are maintained and customer satisfaction is consistently achieved.
  • Responsible for participating and providing support to trade shows, sales meetings, and other sales related functions as required.
  • Responsible for commercial project management for new product launches and for transfer programs.
  • Support Quality Team to achieve consistent compliance with all customer quality requirements and drive continued improvement in current plant quality systems.
  • Develop working relationships with thermoplastic material suppliers resulting in preferred molder status and as sources for lead development.
  • Responsible for regular updates of sales and support activity and full utilization of Salesforce.com Pipeline and RFQ processes.

Qualifications/Education/ Experience:

  • B.S. in Engineering or Business desired
  • Five years experience in direct sales including working on major OEM accounts and knowledge of the machined plastics industry
  • Proven history of sales growth
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent motivator with strong persuasive skills
  • Fluent in English
