Job description
The Senior Business Analyst - JDE provides strategic business analysis services to professional partners both within and outside the organization. The focus of this position is to work closely with the business units to gain an in-depth understanding of the business strategies, processes, services, roadmaps, and the context in which the business operates. This role will be a key contributor to the group by understanding and documenting the capabilities and requirements needed to address business challenges.
The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for reviewing assigned business processes from end-to-end to identify and address operational, financial and technological risks. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency. Responsibilities will include a full range of activities from leading small to mid-size projects to assisting other project managers on larger more complex projects related to operational business functions that affect team members and providers at the market level.

This individual must possess business savvy to identify change opportunities for improving company or process efficiencies.
Responsibilities will include a full range of activities from leading small to mid-size projects to assisting other project managers on larger more complex endeavors related to operational business functions that affect team members and providers at the market level.
The Senior Business Analyst - JDE should also possess strong functional knowledge of the J.D. Edwards data structure knowing where data lives and how it is used by the systems, applications, and its users. Strong knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, Cognos, and SQL skills are a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Be a role model for BRS's company culture (We Care/Team over Self/Improve and Innovate).
- Effectively extract, analyze, understand, and articulate business data. Know the inter-relationships between operating systems and its underlying data sources and uses.
- Be able to create and provide useful internal and external reporting utilizing strong business acumen and JDE data structures and experience as your foundational source.
- Demonstrate up-to-date expertise in warehouse management systems and apply this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices.
- Provide project level analysis producing the required project analysis documentation (business requirements, scope matrix, use cases, sequence diagrams, future state proposals, UAT plans, etc.)
- Define and communicate the requirements and ROI associated with the proposed solutions to the business audience.
- Possess the ability to analyze and synthesize business processes, including recognizing patterns and conceptualizing new ways of performing at a higher level.
- Be relentless in identifying and calling out improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with developers to understand and incorporate the needed requirements and provide the necessary guidance to testers during the QA and UAT processes.
- Be able to develop, execute, and analyze test plans and their results to ensure the appropriate goals of the project are being properly achieved.
- Support or run system updates, system testing and system conversions.
- Identify ways to increase product adoption and customer satisfaction.
- Serve as a liaison between Operations and IT. Manage customer relationships and expectations by developing strong business relationships and communication practices to keep others up to date on project results.
- Understand and be willing and able to negotiate and capture the needs and expectations of multiple stakeholders by clearly understanding the goals, creating, and maintaining meeting minutes, issue logs, meeting schedules, project summaries and properly cadenced updates.
- Provide leadership to team members and peers by collaborating with others; articulating ideas and viewpoints to senior management; initiating projects; managing resources; driving the resolution of issues; and holding self and team members accountable for results.
- Create and maintain project schedules by developing project plans and specifications, estimating time and resources, monitoring milestone completion, tracking all phases of the project lifecycle, providing timely reporting of issues that impact project progress, coordinating actions and resolving conflicts.

- B.S. in Computer Science or similar field or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years' experience with J.D. Edwards I-Series (AS400) platform with versions A7.3 or higher, with focus on distribution and supply chain logistics preferred
- 5+ Years of Data Analytics
- 10+ years' experience as a business analyst, IIBA certification preferred
- 7+ years customer interfacing experience, project oversight, customer presentations
- Strong understanding of business, business processes, data, and process improvement
- 5 years of experience in system design, enhancement, and implementation
- 5 years of relevant work experience
- Experience with HighJump/Koerber 1 or a similar tier 1 WMS system is a plus
- QA leadership or formal testing experience a plus
- Strong understanding of distribution and logistics services a plus
- Must have experience working on large scale projects as well as handling day-to-day operational requests from the business
- Strong project management, ability to successfully manage multiple tasks at any given point, strong relationship building skills & communication skills
- Understanding of Indices, fundamentals, and analytical data, returns level data etc.
- Process Mapping - be able to lead, define and document processes through tools like Visio.
- Data analysis - Must have proficiency with SQL, Microsoft Excel
- Nice to have Power BI, SSRS, Tableau or similar reporting tool
