Provide strategic and operational change management consulting, coaching, and training. Drive the adoption and application of best practices in the Caterpillar Global Change Management model.
Job Duties
Strategic Change Management
As a Change Management Consultant, champion and drive the adoption and practices of the Caterpillar Global Change Management model.
Provide coaching and support to specific Business Units or Department when they are serving as our client:
• Mitigate project risk and achieve the early realization of green-dollar and intangible benefits of change projects that affect the enterprise bottom line.
• Ensure that all levels integrate the Caterpillar Change Management model into their project plans in order to successfully implement and sustain change initiatives.
• Drive effective communications, learning and reinforcement systems to support successful change initiative implementation and sustainment.
• Support the creation of effective tools to drive increased buy-in and employee engagement for change initiatives.
Drive the integration of change management efforts with those of the business unit and the enterprise Global Change Initiatives Team to drive synergy with other enterprise change initiatives.
Operational Change Management
Provide formal training on the Caterpillar Global Change Management model to project teams, project managers, and other key stakeholders.
Build change leadership and capability to support improved results from change initiatives. Work to become a certified Change Master and certified CGCM Facilitation Master.
Serve as the change expert to the client and effectively use the Caterpillar Global Change Model to develop specific, functional change strategies and to systematically apply change management principles to the life cycle of organizational change initiatives.
Champion the growth of a network of change agents and change management expertise within Caterpillar, business units, process deployment teams, system deployment teams, and project managers by providing on-going support to their change management plans.
Work to build and coordinate a network of change agents within the specific business unit or department and regularly assess organizational change readiness to gauge the effectiveness of communication, learning, and recognition system effectiveness. Coach members of the change agent network to systematically evaluate resistance to change. Coach members of the change agent network in the development of customized strategies and implementation plans to manage change resistance.
Coach members of the change agent network in the development of integrated communication, learning and recognition systems that align with the business process implementation.
Champion the use of the Caterpillar Knowledge Network in sharing lessons learned. Specifically focus on the Organizational Change Management community.
Beyond the completion of its own work, the position may assign and review the day-to-day work of other employees. May provide information for performance evaluations but is not solely responsible for personnel issues.
Typical internal customers include a Department or Business/Service Unit in a Division. The position's primary customers are internal. The position is challenged to carefully evaluate problems and review a large number of possible solutions before selecting one option. Problems may be complex and can require the incumbent to develop solutions. The incumbent is free to determine the best way to complete job assignments in order to achieve desired results. Work is reviewed after completion, except in the most complex or high impact situations.
Basic Qualifications
The position requires knowledge of Organizational Change Management. The ability to utilize a variety of computer software packages is also necessary. The position typically requires a college or university degree or equivalent experience. In addition, three to five years of job-related experience are typically required. Excellent interpersonal skills are required in order to deal with sensitive issues, develop others, or persuade others inside and outside the department to take specific actions.

This position will require less than 10% travel.
