Kelly is hiring a Lab Technician for one of our clients in Naperville, IL.

• Full time (40hrs/week) Flexibility in start/end time
• Pay:$24/hr
• 1 year contract to start

This is a great opportunity to join the Organic Synthesis (Polymer) Lab as a Lab Technician!
The lab technician performs a variety of routine laboratory operations with technical direction from supervisor.

The Lab Tech role in the Polymer Lab includes job includes
***Hands on wet bench chemistry, chemicals handling, and preparation of solutions/dilutions
***Routine analytical characterization and data analysis
***Organic reactions and polymer synthesis, which is supervised by a researcher
***The work does not involve more advanced analytical techniques (such LC, GC, NMR, FTIR etc)

Job Responsibilities:
• Assist in maintaining the productivity and organization of a busy research laboratory
• Maintain Standard Operating Procedures and make recommends for their improvement
• Participate in scientific discussion and critical thinking
• Assemble test materials and equipment to expedite test procedures
• Perform laboratory testing under the supervision of scientists and project leaders
• Record test results accurately and concisely in a laboratory notebook
• Assist in analyzing and interpreting experimental data
• Maintain clean and safe work facility

Minimum Qualifications:
• B.S./B.A degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field

Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of laboratory practices, scientific terminology, and the characterization and preparation of materials used in routine and special procedures
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
• A high attention to detail and quality in results
• Must be able to establish and meet deadlines to produce independent results, while building a network of resources in the company
• Must work well with other team members, including design engineers
• Ability to multi-task and manage numerous projects simultaneously

Environment: The lab has 14 principal researchers, and generally 3 laboratory technicians. Candidate must be able to work as a part of a team, and will typically report to 4-5 principal investigators over the course of their tenure
