Our location in Lake County, IL currently has an opportunity for a Senior Business systems Analyst.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
This Senior Business Systems Analyst position will support Manufacturing applications, as part of Abbott's corporate Business Solutions and Services organization. This position will provide project delivery and business systems support primarily around Manufacturing Execution Systems and validation processes.
Core Job Responsibilities
Analyzes business processes; elicits, analyzes, translates & documents business requirements into functional requirements; identifies alternative solutions; assesses feasibility and makes recommendations to leverage new or existing IT technology components. Works with internal & external development staff to drive system releases.
This position also performs manufacturing data analysis and leads, coordinates and performs testing, verification, and validation of requirements.
Position Accountability & Scope
- Acts as the primary liaison between the IT and business areas, supporting Manufacturing business applications, in areas such as Manufacturing Execution Systems (Siemens Ops Center), Labeling, and general manufacturing control systems.
- Works directly with clients to apply IT and business knowledge with experience to formulate IT solutions for business problems.
Analyzes data files, perform data, field and format validation, and upload into transactional system. - Gather and document user and functional requirements, develop and execute test scripts.
- Devise standard system procedures, participate in system testing, prepare program test data, test and debug programs.
- Review, analyze, and evaluate business systems and user needs, identifies alternative solutions and makes recommendations to leverage new or existing IT technology components.
- Works with technical support partners to troubleshoot and resolve issues and define and deliver new application functionality.
- Leads small system release projects or assists Project Manager on phases of larger projects.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. No advanced degree required.
Minimum Experience/Training Required:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of overall IT experience.
- Experience with gathering user and functional requirements for business applications
- Performing testing, verification, and validation of requirements.
Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment with strong attention to detail and quality results. - Outstanding analytical, troubleshooting, written & verbal communication skills are essential; must be independent, driven to deliver and customer service oriented.
- Embraces change and maintain focus and positive approach in face of uncertainty
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting Manufacturing Execution systems including Siemens Camstar / OpsCenter would be beneficial.
