Position Summary:

The primary responsibility of a Portfolio Strategist is to provide support to the Investment Management Group, Managing Directors, and Internal Teams concerning issues related to investments and client meeting preparation. This includes asset allocation modeling, portfolio recommendations based on policies specified by the Oxford Investment Fellows (OIF) and special analysis/projects.


Duties & Responsibilities:


Portfolio implementation and recommendations

  • Creates/updates client Investment Allocation Summaries and Investment Recommendation Reports
  • Manages discretionary portfolios in rebalancing software
  • Provides recommendations for rebalancing portfolios, investing cash, and raising cash consistent with clients' tax sensitivity, portfolio make-up, manager suitability, and the OIF's current investment strategy
  • Applies account specific security restrictions and applies appropriate cash reserves to accounts in rebalancing software
  • Maintains account mapping, substitution or security level definitions for each security hold in an Oxford account
  • Interacts with client service team members to coordinate client-specific investment strategies
  • Monitor and update investment allocations to keep current with OIF policies
  • Daily monitoring of compliance metrics and takes action to keep portfolios in tolerance with allocations and Investment Policy Statements (IPS)


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field required. MBA, CFA or CFP preferred
  • Experience with rebalancing, portfolio management and CRM software preferred (Tamarac, SalesForce)
  • Understanding of tax efficient management of portfolios
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Strong critical thinking/analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
  • 3-5 years prior investment related experience
  • Must have a professional demeanor with the utmost respect for confidential matters
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal skills
  • Must have ability to multi-task
  • Must have ability to work in a high stress, fast paced environment
  • Must have strong work ethic with a positive attitude
