Job description

Position Goals:

Lead complex projects using a variety of communication techniques to create a shared understanding between the project and build a team. Responsible for translating conceptual user requirements into business and functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible and can be linked to a test script for validation. Create process models, specifications, diagrams and charts to provide direction to the project team. Operate as a product owner in an Agile development project.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Document the business problem and work with stakeholders to define potential solutions.

  2. Perform feasibility analysis.

  3. Make recommendations to the team with rationale and obtain a supported team decision.

  4. Lead and facilitate the requirements elicitation sessions and/or utilize other elicitation techniques to fulfill the purpose and goal of the project leveraging the standard operating practices of the business analyst team.

  5. Ensure all aspects of projects are completed using the business analyst's template.

  1. Document the project needs and capabilities.

  2. Analyze/options or feasibility research of needs and possible solutions.

  3. Visually map solutions and present in an easy-to-understand manner to obtain a decision.

  4. Identify technology and/or business solutions.

  5. Elicit, document and update stakeholder, business, functional, and non-functional requirements.

  6. Complete detailed workflow process mapping identifying processes in need of change

  7. Develop requirements testing strategies and execute the test plan to mitigate deployment risk.

  1. Research, review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing requirements gathering processes and develop strategies for enhancing or further leveraging these processes.

  2. Participate and lead team discussions and be a mentor to business analysts to help create shared knowledge on how to overcome project and stakeholder challenges.

  3. Provide guidance to project management when a business analyst is not allocated to a project.

  4. Participate in the selection of any requirements documentation software solutions that the organization may opt to use.


Position Requirements:

Education - Bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science, finance or information systems.

Experience - A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a business analyst, project management, or other analytical role. Experience in overseeing the design, development and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems or products.

Other - Working knowledge of the Microsoft suite, Lucid Charts and SQL.

Preferred Requirements:

Master's degree.

A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a business analyst or other analytical role.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Lucid Charts, SQL.

Exposure to and understanding of bank structure/operations (general flow of business).

IIBA Certification or relevant business analyst certification.

Six Sigma Green Belt.
