Job description
JOB SUMMARY: This position provides support to the Controller and Facility Administrator for all reporting, budgeting and direct analysis of our ambulatory surgery center (ASC).
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Compile financial reports monthly.
- Assists with annual budgeting process.
- Perform monthly revenue and contractual allowance reporting for all locations.
- Prepares journal entries, reconciliations and work papers necessary to support completion of ASC financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Assists with analyzing outside payer professional reimbursement schedules as part of a contracting team.
- Maintains the confidentiality and integrity of all information encountered during work activities.
- Assists with Accounts Payable function.
- Reconcile Bank Statements.
- Maintain Fixed Asset System.
- Assist in the administration of the Payroll Function.
- Administration of the Account Receivable Function.
- Compilation and preparation of state sales/use taxes.
- Year End 1099 reporting.
- Perform any special projects that are required by management.
- Prepare monthly Journal Entries.
- Prepare monthly ESC Financials and Quarterly S-Corporation Financials.
- Assists in periodic Inventory Data Entry.
- Serve as back-up for Patient Billing.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
- This position is responsible for the monthly reconciliation of the bank statements for the ESC in a timely manner.
- This position is responsible for the maintenance and verification of the fixed asset system. This includes any additions, modifications, or deletions required.
- This position serves as back-up for the payroll processing
- This position is responsible for the timely preparation of all state sales/use taxes. Is also responsible for keeping up to date on any new requirements or developments related to such taxes.
- This position is responsible for the year-end 1099 reports to all applicable vendors and individuals.
- As determined by management, position may be asked to perform duties to assist in the overall functioning of the controller's department or the operations of the Evansville Surgery Center.
- This position is responsible for the preparation of monthly generation of Journal Entries.
- Responsible for timely completion of ESC's monthly financial statements.
- Responsible for timely completion of EPSC's quarterly financial reports
- Responsible for preparation of the EPSC's bi-monthly distributions
- Responsible for the reconciliation of EPSC's bank accounts
- Responsible for assisting in Quarterly Physical Inventory.
- Responsible for completing annual audit work papers and completion of the client assistance list.
- Assist's the controller with documentation of ESC's internal control policies and procedures.
- Prepares the tax work papers for the external accountant and works with their staff to ensure all questions and documents are provided to ensure timely completion of the returns.
- Prepares the annual property tax returns for ESC.
- Completes re-credential applications for payers.
- Completes insurance renewal applications as requested.
- Complete Healthstream learning by the due date.
- Follow ESC's behavioral standards.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPEREIENCE:
Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Business Operations required. Prefer three years of experience in a financial analytical capacity within healthcare. Masters level degree in related fields is desired. CPA certification desired.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounting software; database software; Human Resource
systems; internet software; Payroll systems; spreadsheet software and word processing software. Excel and Access use required. Pre-
Exposure to EPIC highly desired.
