* Utilize knowledge and experience with histology specimens to maintain proper storage conditions and facilitate accessioning of blocks and slides (stained and unstained)
* Perform routine decalcification, processing, embedding, microtomy and re-embedding of human tissue specimens from patients enrolled in clinical trials.
* Perform routine stains, special stains and advanced staining assays following SOPs, protocols and in line with global and regional regulatory requirements
* Perform slide scanning as required by protocols
* Ensure Special handling specimens are picked up from appropriate area , sorted, accessioned, pre-scanned and registered into appropriate temperature bins in a timely manner
* Generate and apply special labels to include aliquot and or mini labels with client specific elements
* Perform and resolve pendings
* Prepare workstation and instrument maintenance as required by SOP
* Document quality Control as required by SOP
* Follow all SOPs and company policies
* Maintain training file

Education/Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree from accredited college/university with a combination of 30 semester hours of biology and chemistry and successful completion of NAACLS accredited Histotechnician or Histotechnology program within last 5 years OR
* Bachelor's degree as described in #1 and one year full time acceptable experience in histopathology lab in US, Canada or CAP/JCAHO/CLIA accredited lab within last ten years OR
* Associates degree from regionally accredited college/university with combination of 12 hours in biology and chemistry and one year documented lab training or experience in histopathology lab

Experience:

* Minimum 6 months experience in histology lab
* Detail oriented
* Superb documentation skills
* Familiarity with labeling and accessioning procedures and tracking paraffin tissue blocks and slides
