POSITION SUMMARY
The DC Shipping Clerk is responsible for providing support to Shipping, Receiving, Traffic and Scheduling. Responsible for multi-phone line, providing information to truck drivers on loads and giving directions. Preparation of all specialty paperwork, i.e.: (Maps, Export, Dock receipts, Air bills, Dangerous goods, etc.) Receives paperwork on all inbound trailers from Lozier Sister Plants.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Ensure paperwork is complete and carrier is notified for LTL (Less Than Load) shipments.
  • Prepare paperwork for drivers and ensure the trailers are sealed.
  • Release trailers to appropriate carriers.
  • Receive inbound trailer paperwork from other Lozier plants and logs information.
  • Input daily trailer pictures.
  • Schedule add-on and express lane shipments when applicable.
  • Regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to work, meetings and completing assignments.
  • Ability to work and interact well with others.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Experience: Minimum of one year shipping or traffic experience.
Required Skills:
  • Basic PC skills including word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
  • Basic organization and time management skills.
