Maintenance Journeyman--1st shift

POSITION SUMMARY
The Maintenance Journeyman is responsible for inspecting, installing, repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining manufacturing equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Position is responsible for following specifications, reading blueprints, manuals, and schematic drawings using hand tools, power tools, cranes, hoists, and measuring and testing instruments. Journeyman will build and modify equipment as needed and provide direction and guidance to the pre-apprentice and apprentice.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Inspect, install, repair, troubleshoot and maintain manufacturing equipment (mechanical, air, hydraulic, and electrical) in the plant.
- Interact and navigate the maintenance work order system, related processes and people, to directly and timely complete repairs and preventative maintenance.
- Ability to work in a fast passed manufacturing environment with changing priorities throughout the shift.
- Regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to work and completing assignments.
- Ability to work and interact well with others.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Associate's degree or certification in a Maintenance related field or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience maintaining equipment in an industrial manufacturing environment.
Required Skills:
- Intermediate PC skills
- Working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
- Ability to observe, listen and analyze operating machines
- Welding and fabrication experience
SPECIAL DEMANDS
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
- Must be able to work on concrete surface all day and travel length of facility at brisk pace routinely throughout day.
- Occasional climbing.
