What You'll Do:

As the Title Examiner, you will review, research, and examine titles and public records to create reports and closing packages, ensuring complete, accurate, and timely information.


Your Accountabilities in the Role:

  • Reviews and evaluates titles to ensure all documents are complete, accurate, and done on time.
  • Reviews documentation such as deeds, mortgages, deeds of trust, liens, and other documents to determine ownership, encumbrances, and to verify legal descriptions of property.
  • Researches and evaluates records relating to property taxes, federal and state inheritance/estate taxes, liens, judgments, bankruptcy filings, and other records to have complete and accurate information.
  • Analyzes the chain of title, and/or defects in the chain of title, to prepare reports outlining title-related matters for resolution.
  • Reviews and ensures that the title to a property in question has no restrictions that may prevent or hinder its sale or use.
  • Synthesizes all the information to prepare complete and accurate property reports and title commitments.

Position Requirements:

  • Education: High School diploma or GED
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in reviewing and analyzing title related documents and meeting output goals.
  • Functional Skills: Strong researching, planning, prioritizing, organizing, and execution skills; excellent with problem-solving, time management and strong attention to details; solid analytical and math skills; strong in managing large amounts of data and ensuring completeness and accuracy of documents.
  • Certifications: N/A
  • Technology Aptitude/Other: Advanced PC and Microsoft skills
  • Language Skills: Basic verbal and written communication skills to provide information, instruction, and present documents well.
  • Leadership/Behaviors: Self-driven and results-oriented. Able to work independently to get the job done. Requires a conceptual, logical thinker who can figure things out to meet deadlines. Able to work in a fast-paced environment with ease.
  • Culture of the area: Highly-driven, high-energy group based on time-sensitive transactions; can work well within the team and independently.

Other Important Information:

Pay/Salary : Pay is commensurate with proven expertise.

  • And, the compensation will grow as the team member grows!

Reports To : Production Manager

Core Hours: 8:00 am - 5:30 pm

Typical Work Week: M-F; 40-45 hours a week on average
