Job description
RESPONSIBILITIES
Recruiting
- Lead the recruiting efforts for all non-exempt positions (internal and external), which includes:
o Preparing job postings
o Reviewing applications
o Conducting pre-employment assessments
o Interviewing candidates
o Coordinate temporary/contract employees
Worker's Compensation & Safety
- Serve as a member of the safety team
- Conduct accident investigations
- Maintain medical supplies
- Maintain the OSHA 300 Log
- Communicate with the Safety Manager
Training
- Facilitate monthly training courses for Plant employees
- Track all training including rosters, duration, costs, etc.
Employee Relations
- Conduct new employee orientation
- Ensure employee benefit enrollments including 401(k) enrollment
- Advise and consult supervision on employee relations
- Interpret company policies and procedures with employees and supervisors
Administrative responsibilities
- Review new hire data entry
- Payroll administration
- Maintaining attendance records
- Track and keep performance appraisals on time for non-exempt employees
Miscellaneous Projects
- Update job descriptions, annually, or as needed
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management
- 3 - 5 years' experience in Human Resources, within those 3-5 years, at least 2 years of manufacturing
- HR law knowledge and experience counseling employees and supervisors relating to HR law
- Proven leadership abilities in previous work, community or school endeavors
- Proven ability to lead, advice and counsel others
- Ability to present and train small groups of employees in a training setting

Other
- Responsible for monitoring, record keeping and taking appropriate actions for specific Food Safety Plan and Food Quality Plan and pre requisite program requirements.
- Responsible to report food safety and quality issues to management.
