Summary

Pro-Am Team Sports creates branded apparel, particularly team uniforms, corporate wear and spirit wear. We help our customers create the vision for their personalized apparel.

Our team is currently seeking a Part Time, Human Resources Specialist to join our team in Schererville, IN. The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for handling all human resources activities and programs for all Pro-Am employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities may include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Handles the timely and accurate administration of time and attendance and payroll systems, including recordkeeping and reporting. Ensures accuracy of documentation and application of time off.
  • Partners with payroll provider to process bi-weekly payroll and commissions and monitors for compliance relative to applicable labor laws.
  • Administers performance management processes.
  • Partners with leadership to develop and implement HR policies and procedures.
  • Participates in benefits administration to include monitoring benefit plan compliance and reporting, claims resolution, change reporting and approving invoices for payment.
  • Supports document generation for COBRA response, FMLA leave administration, and benefits enrollment and termination.
  • Handles recruitment efforts for exempt and non-exempt personnel. Posts position openings, reviews candidates and submits qualified candidates to hiring managers for review.
  • Conducts phone screens and references checks for candidates.
  • Maintains accurate records throughout the recruitment process for applicant tracking purposes.
  • Handles new employee on-boarding and conducts new hire orientation.
  • Generates and maintains HR records, reports, and documents that support HR programs and processes.
  • Manages employee exit process and conducts exit interviews.
  • Partners with managers to handle disciplinary and employee relations issues.
  • Assists in organizational training and development efforts.
  • Participates in staff meetings and attends other meetings as required.

Education and/or Experience

Required:

  • Associate's degree in human resources or related field.
  • One to three years of experience in a human resources role.
  • Prior payroll processing experience.
  • Knowledge of labor laws and employee benefits, compliance and reporting laws
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with great sensitivity.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Motivated self-starter.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
