Job description

General Summary:

Through his/her personal actions, set the tone, work ethic and pace for all Credit Union personnel and activities. The primary purpose of this position is to service Credit Union members individually to make a difference in each members life by identifying financial needs, deepening relationships and supporting Credit Union goals. Another primary goal is to assist loan officers to originate first mortgage loans while working effectively with a team of employees while being responsible for ensuring that outstanding service is delivered to both internal and external members.

Essential Functions:

* Demonstrate enthusiastic support of corporate mission, core values and long term objectives. Performs duties within our bylaws, regulations, Board of Directors policies, established internal and external service standards and our work procedures.
* Assist Real Estate Loan Officers in building member relationships by actively uncovering and evaluating members financial needs and answering members questions regarding Credit Union services.
* Process and submit first mortgage loan applications to underwriting for delivery to secondary market investors or the Credit Union portfolio.
* Analyze first mortgage loan applicants income, assets, credit and collateral to ensure file accuracy prior to delivery to underwriting.
* Understand the Credit Unions loan policy and ATR (Ability To Repay) procedures and secondary market guidelines; Ability to utilize Credit Union training materials, reference tools and other resources to provide accurate and up-to-date loan program/policy information to internal and external members.
* Ability to clearly communicate to Realtors and members regarding the application and closing process.
* Must possess effective knowledge of the Credit Unions products, loan policies and services.

Working Conditions:

Must be able to remain in a stationary position 80% of the time; they will need to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.; constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery (i.e., a calculator, copy machine and computer printer); the person in this position frequently communicates with members, Realtors and third party vendors to process a first mortgage application; must be able to exchange concise, accurate and timely information in these situations; the physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Job Qualifications:

High school diploma, GED or equivalent; minimum of two years in banking, preferably in the Real Estate lending field; Efficient in math; Efficient in working with the public in a tactful and businesslike manner; must be detail oriented; NMLS certified or have the ability to become certified; must be bondable in accordance with State of Iowa and CCCU guidelines.
