**Kelly Services is currently seeking a remote Senior Technical Proposal Writer for a Direct Hire role in Charles City, IA** .

**Job Title** : **Senior Technical Proposal Writer**

Pay: $79 - 119k depending on experience

***This position may be remote with occasional travel to Charles City, IA.**

**Job Description** :

This position is responsible for writing technical proposals for multiple services which may include analytical chemistry, process chemistry, formulation development, and drug substance and drug product manufacturing This position will act as the primary contact with business development, SME's, project management, finance and legal in executing the proposal preparation and will provide support to business development in follow up with customers and ensure a seamless introduction to project management at project kick-off.

**Principal Responsibilities** :

• Responsible for interacting with Business Development (BD) team and external customers on Requests for Proposals (RFPs)

• Coordinates with BD to schedule Subject Matter Expert (SME) meetings for RFP reviews

• Accurately assemble all cost and pricing elements of new proposals and change of scopes

• Responsible for working with key stakeholders including business development and external customers to clearly define project scope, strategy, resource requirements, timelines, deliverables, pricing and appropriate risk mitigation

• Responsible for writing high quality technical proposals for various service offerings

• Ensures accurate timelines and pricing is provided in proposals for forecasting activities

• Ensure that the timelines and due dates for proposals are met

• Trains other proposal writers

• Reviews the work of other proposal writers for accuracy

• Works closely with BD to achieve the new awards target, optimize profit and fill the site manufacturing capacity

• Works with finance to ensure workbook calculation models are up to date

• Works with Project Management to ensure appropriate Change Orders are initiated

• Involved in the first steps of project kickoff with initial technical transfer

• Responsible for Business Operations administration of Salesforce.com

• Plays a proactive role in optimizing and harmonizing while developing and applying new approaches, procedures and processes with coordination across sites and business units

• Take into account market conditions that may affect price and profit margins

**Secondary Responsibilities** :

• Builds working relationships throughout the organization

• Can fill in for Associate Director, Business Operations for review and approval of proposals

• Other duties as required

**Requirements** :

**Technical Skills** :

• BS in science with focus on organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, chemical engineering or pharmacy and/or microbiology expertise

• 5+ years experience in a technical operation role in manufacturing or pharmaceutical development

• Organic chemistry experience

• API industry experience

• Chemical manufacturing experience

• Ability to write and peer-review highly technical proposals

• Strong business acumen and problem-solving skills

• Planning and organizing

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional team

**Communication Skills** :

• Superior verbal and written communication skills with both internal and external customers

• Effective negotiating skills

• Ability to listen and respond effectively to external customers, partners and colleagues at all levels

**Interpersonal and Behavioral Skills** :

• Highly goal and result oriented

• Prioritizes tasks according to business objectives and can pursue several objectives simultaneously
