Hospital and Hospice Volunteer Coordinator/Bereavement Assistant

Cherokee Regional Hospice is looking for an enthusiastic team member with strong verbal and written communication skills and an attention to detail to recruit, train, maintain, engage, and recognize hospital and hospice volunteers.

Position:

* Full Time
* 30-40 hours/week, 4-5 days/week, flexible schedule
* Reports to Hospice Social Worker

Responsibilities:

* The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for networking with community groups, marketing and developing communications such as newsletters to help promote the hospital and hospice and the volunteer programs.
* The individual in this position must accurately schedule and track volunteer activities.
* Bereavement Assistant duties include coordinating bereavement support services under the direction of the Bereavement Coordinator, assisting in coordinating the annual memorial service, and directing bereavement volunteers.

Qualifications:

* Excellent customer service and communication skills. Comfortable talking in front of groups.
* Proven experience leading teams.
* Proficient in basic computer skills including word, excel, and powerpoint.
* Knowledgeable in management principles and the ability to effectively manage a wide variety of tasks, projects, and responsibilities.
* Bachelor's Degree in Social Work Preferred
