Job description

This position is responsible for teaching classes as assigned by the Academic Dean. Assignment locations include Harlan and Council Bluffs Iowa. Assignments will start in August of 2021. Current assignments are in the morning and the afternoon.

The instructor will promote, develop, and deliver quality education programs with the intent to retain students to graduation and access student learning outcomes each term. Must evaluate and report student performances and progress in courses in accordance with college and division policies and procedures.

Other duties include, but are not limited to, teaching classroom and laboratory sessions, curriculum development/restructuring, lab oversight and safety activities, student success, student recruitment, and responsibility for materials and supplies.

Candidates interviewed may be required to provide a teaching demonstration.

Required Qualification

Bachelor's degree in Auto OR 6000 hours of work experience

Usage of an online learning management system is required.

Candidates should have extensive professional experience in the Auto Maintenance field.

Preferred Qualification

Teaching experience is preferred.
Strong motivation to work/serve under-prepared students.

Physical Demands

Requires prolonged standing or sitting. Requires frequent bending, stooping or stretching. May require heavy lifting depending on assignment and lab. Requires the safe use of welding equipment.
ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, use hands to operate computer keyboard, telephone, and other basic office equipment, and ability to work with diverse populations.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, and use a phone. Some travel, by vehicle, may be required. Reading, writing, calculating, social interaction skills, reasoning/analysis, and ability to work with minimal supervision, high degree of problem-solving, organizational skills with the teaching and learning process, and high level of inter-personal skills is preferred.
Hiring process includes ability to pass a background check, a valid driver's license, and a good driving record.

Salary : Adjunct Rates Apply - Depends on Number of Courses
