Job description

Our client is seeking to add a Therapist II to their growing team. The selected individual will have the ability to sign up for weekday evening/overnights or weekends according to their availability. Frequency of coverage is extremely flexible. On Call therapists are expected to cover one week on call every four to six weeks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides crisis intervention and assessment of clients for law enforcement, court systems, and hospital emergency rooms. Determines client needs and makes recommendations and referrals to the appropriate levels of care. Assessments are provided on-site, face to face, or via telehealth where the crisis is occurring.
  • Conducts a crisis focused assessment and documentation to be completed within 24 hours of crisis call.
  • Establishes an intervention plan, with client and law enforcement, court systems, or hospital emergency rooms participation, which specifies immediate treatment needs and follow-up.
  • Maintains relationships with law enforcement agencies, courts, hospitals, and other key community resources, as well as provide referrals to clients.
  • Ability to handle complex cases.
  • Ability to be on-call, Monday through Sunday. Hours include availability from 4:30PM to 8:00AM on weekdays and entire day coverage on weekends. On-call requires answering and responding to crisis calls during the night hours/weekends and ability to respond to situations on-site during those hours within 30 minutes, or via telehealth within 15 minutes.
  • Is dependable and punctual regarding scheduling and attendance.
  • Refers to other Service programs and other community services, as necessary either concurrent with services or for aftercare.
  • Maintains clinical records, meeting established standards of timeliness and completeness.
  • Is prompt and accurate in completing all required reports and other requirements.
  • Displays a courteous and caring attitude at all times to the clientele, volunteers, and visitors of the Agency.
  • Cooperates and collaborates with program area staff, volunteers, and other Agency staff.
  • Abides by all specific program and Agency procedures, policies, and requirements.
  • Develops personal and program related skills through participation in internal and external training opportunities including printed material and audio and/or visual media.
  • Creates, maintains, and shares an appropriate and dynamic self-care plan.
  • Strives to make connections between the agency and the larger community whenever possible in order to contribute to the agency's ongoing fundraising and friend-raising efforts. .
  • Performs other program related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Marriage and Family Therapy.
  • A minimum of two years experience .
  • Iowa licensed required- LMHC or LISW required (provisional will be considered).
  • Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record.
