Major responsibilities
- Facilitate the monitoring and maintaining of internal accounting controls
- Aid in annual budgeting process
- Intermittently work with non-financial staff members and be able to clarify financial matters
- Provide assistance in the development of monthly financial reporting and other business data
- Provide assistance to internal and external auditors during financial and operational audits
- Assist in ensuring adequate controls and procedures
- Direct different aspects of the monthly/quarterly/annual close process (i.e. journal entries, account reconciliations, expense analysis, and trend analysis, variance analysis)
- Study and query a broad amounts of data
- Fortify and review budgets and income statement forecasts
- Produce interesting alternatives and counseling to reduce costs and develop financial performance of a company
Requirements
- Solid computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software, as well as databases and customer database systems
- Strong communication and social skills and able to receive criticism well
- Experience with bank reconciliations
- Practical knowledge of financial analysis
- Adeptness in Annual Financial Reporting
- Prior experience with Balance Sheets
- Background working with US GAAP
- Previous experience working with Invoice
- Comprehension of Invoice Payment
- Accounts Receivable (AR) experience required
- Invoice Processing experience highly valued
- GAAP Accounting experience highly preferred
- Hands-on experience with payroll
- Accounts Payable (AP) experience
- Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Skills in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly desired (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)
- Able to work independently with a minimal amount of oversight
- BA/BS degree in finance or a related field
