Job description

Retail Merchandiser ensures store shelves and cold boxes/coolers are stocked with fresh products, builds displays to draw attention to products, and provides exceptional service to retail clients.

Compensation:

  • Starting Wage: Up to $17 hr
  • Mileage Reimbursement

Essential Functions:

  1. Supports the Delivery Team as needed to ensure appropriate inventory levels and storage.
  2. Maintains fresh products by rotating, reorganizing, refilling back stocks, cold boxes/coolers, and shelves.
  3. Builds displays and executes placement of point of sale and other merchandising items.
  4. Refreshes temporary point of sale at assigned accounts as new programs warrant.
  5. Keeps backrooms and inventory areas clean and organized.
  6. Completes inventory recording tasks and provides feedback to the Account Manager.
  7. Maintains a professional rapport and image with store personnel and customers.
  8. Adheres to all Iowa Beverage internal business principles and employee standards.
  9. This list is not all-inclusive of other tasks and sub-tasks necessary for performing this role but rather an overview of the role's primary work tasks.
  10. Solution-oriented enterprise mindset approach to all obstacles.
  11. Understands and complies with all local, state, and federal regulations along with all IBEV policies and procedures.
  12. Must be able to lift lbs. regularly and routinely and push lbs. handcart load.
  13. Participation in work hours on weekends or holidays and special event dates.
  14. Other assigned duties.

Knowledge & Experience Requirments:

  1. Must be at least 18 years of age.
  2. Must have a current valid Iowa Driver's License.
  3. Must be comfortable engaging and speaking with store personnel and customers.
  4. Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  5. Must possess effective communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirments:

This is a physically demanding position that requires heavy and repetitive lifting/ placement of products. Additional physical requirements include:

  1. Must be able to pull/push a grocery cart while carrying a load of up to 175 lbs.
  2. Must be able to lift/carry various products ranging from 10-60 lbs., without mechanical assistance.
  3. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
  4. Must tolerate working in an environment with inside/outside ambient/extreme temperatures.
  5. Must be able to work on weekends.
  6. Potential candidates must complete a medical evaluation, including a physical evaluation designed to test the ability to perform basic physical job requirements.
