Job description

The RPS Administrator consults with plan participants, plan sponsors and internal business partners regarding the day to day activities of a company's retirement plan. This role is also responsible for insuring the retirement plans comply with the plan document and IRS/DOL regulations.



Job Description

PRIMARY & ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Answers telephone and email inquiries from retirement plan participants covering a variety of topics.

2. Communicates and educates plan sponsors and internal business partners regarding plan document provisions and day to day retirement plan activities.

3. Issues plan forms to participants via mail, email and fax.

4. Assists in plan conversion; trains new clients on payroll processing guidelines and Heartland website navigation and prepares plan document binder and mailing to new clients.

5. Processes plan contributions and plan distributions.

6. Processes participant loans for retirement plans.

7. Processes participant investment election and beneficiary forms.

8. Assists in year-end non-discrimination compliance testing including ADP/ACP, top heavy, 410(b), 402(g) and 415 limits.

9. Prepares IRS Form 5500s and related schedules.

10. Reconciles quarterly statements and reports.

11. Prepares annual client plan reviews.

12. Reviews and verifies accurate processing for all administrative tasks performed by peers.

13. Performs miscellaneous tasks and runs various reports to insure plan compliance with the IRS/DOL.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Maintains up-to date knowledge of present and proposed legislation regarding retirement plans.

2. Stays current on any continuing education required for job responsibilities or professional designations.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required

2. 1-3 years of retirement plan experience

1. 1-3 years of customer service or customer facing experience

2. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to problem solve effectively

3. Experience working in changing, high growth environments; comfortable with ambiguity and working in matrixed organizations

4. Working knowledge with FIS Relius administration/record system is desired, or the ability to learn computer applications relevant to the position.

5. Bilingual in Spanish preferred

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION:

QKA, QPA, CPC, ERPA or APA designations highly preferred.
