Job description

PURPOSE:

Responsible for the repair and maintenance of the ethanol plant equipment, to ensure maximum production quantity and quality, while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the company.


ACCOUNTABILITIES:

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform plant maintenance in all Electrical and Instrumentation areas of the plant.
  • Diagnose, Trouble-shoot and Repair plant equipment Electrical and Instrumentation related issues.
  • Perform installation, routine maintenance and repairs on existing and new electrical, instrumentation, PLC controls and mechanical equipment components.
  • Performs corrective, preventative and predictive maintenance activities on all plant equipment including Motors, Soft and Mag Motor Starters, Running Conduit and wire pulling.
  • Perform Troubleshooting, programming and repair of PLC/DCS systems, DCS soft and hardware repairs and responsible for their sustained operation.
  • Read and follow electrical, mechanical and instrumentation diagrams and P&ID prints for trouble shooting and project works.
  • Work with computerized maintenance management System (COGZ) to ensure fulfilment of all work orders assigned.
  • Demonstrate personal computer skills and good understanding of electrical & PLC programs and hardware maintenance.
  • Repair or replaces plant equipment or systems on a scheduled or emergency basis.
  • Communicate directly with maintenance supervisor and plant operations department to coordinate maintenance and repair work.
  • Helps with the installation of capital and operational projects, as requested by supervisor.
  • Participates in Health, Safety and Environmental programs.
  • Works with external contractors and vendors to implement installation of new equipment or systems and repairs of existing equipment.


Job Requirements:

WORK REQUIREMENTS:

Experience/ Educational:

  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in electrical and instrumentation work in the maintenance or repair of industrial equipment (pumps, valves, actuators, motors, compressors, centrifuges, conveying equipment, etc.) is required . Equivalent work experience may be substituted for education.
  • Plant/Industrial Maintenance experience is required. Experience in the maintenance functions of a wet/dry-mill ethanol plant preferred.
  • Experience in the use of smart hart, hand and power tools preferred.

Physical:

  • Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 70 lbs. of supplies and materials.
  • Must have good eyesight to visually inspect product for quality and/or deficiencies of product.
  • Must have mobility to bend and push materials into place.
  • Must be able to stoop and bend to clean around and under equipment.
  • Must be able to work in and around various working conditions (heat, cold, dust, noise, chemicals and fumes).
  • Must be able to work extended or varied hours to meet production demands.
  • Must have good, manual dexterity to perform numerous eye/hand coordination activities to needed.
  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Must be able to work at heights.
  • Must be able to enter confined spaces.
