Job description

To be responsible for talent sourcing, screening, interviewing, and selection of professional and non-professional positions; provide expertise on HR policies and procedures and contract implementation related to recruitment; and develop recruitment marketing plans and coordinate recruitment events.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Represent the hiring department's needs by gaining an in depth understanding of the department's values and culture
  • Partner with hiring managers to assess talent requirements and advise on hiring strategies
  • Work with hiring managers and compensation/classification to write effective job descriptions
  • Recommend sourcing strategies to comply with Affirmative Action guidelines, Section 503, VEVRRA and achieve a diverse and qualified talent pool meeting the UI's goals/initiatives
  • Generate applicant pools by initiating requisitions to post new and vacant positions, and prepare associated internal/external advertisements
  • Development new and enhanced strategies to attract and engage applicants
  • Experience using social media for recruitment and advertising
  • Assure compliance with all federal and state regulations throughout the recruitment/hiring process
  • Screen resumes and conduct phone screens to make candidate recommendations to hiring managers
  • Serve as an administrator for all assigned job searches and participates in candidate interview. Provide expertise of institutional policies and guidance for interview questions, assuring compliance with applicable regulations
  • Run and distribute reports, monitor compliance, and gather information regarding compliance activities or issues
  • Collaborate with support staff and hiring managers to schedule interviews
  • Conduct reference checks
  • Prepare offer letters
  • Input data to and maintain various hiring-related metrics and prepare periodic and/or special reports
  • Participate in annual review of all departmental job descriptions and essential and marginal job function analysis forms. Revise/update as needed
  • Manage new hire compliances. Verify degree information, licensure, pre-employment health requirements and background check compliances
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external constituents as related to the recruitment process (e.g. senior leadership, hiring managers, 3rd party recruitment firms, etc.)
  • Utilize a variety of tools/techniques (e.g. social media, advertising, direct contact, job fairs and community outreach) to drive employer branding and recruitment marketing campaigns and events

Pay Grade: 3A

Required Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or Business Administration or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of human resources experience with recruitment responsibility
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with applicant tracking systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Demonstrated job-related experience with commitment to diversity in the work or academic environment
  • Demonstrated experience and ability with providing excellent and timely customer service

Desired Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in recruitment of Healthcare professionals
  • Previous experience in high volume recruiting
  • Working knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action policies
  • Certification within Human Resources (PHR, SHRM-CP)
