Job description

We are currently looking for a Leader to join our Northeast Region Petroleum team as a Regional Service Manager . This role will Support the Regional Manager in all aspects of the business with a focus on our service team members and service operations. Selecting, developing and identifying top performers for current and future service roles will be a primary focus and rhythm in order to sustain successful operational processes in this role.

This role's primary home location will be located within the region in any of the following locations: Sioux City or Norfolk

You will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the Regional Manager in the recruiting, hiring, and training of service staff across the designated region.
  • Providing supervision of service technicians including coaching, developing and teaching.
  • Reporting and documenting employee issues or concerns to the Regional Management Team along with any performance feedback needed.
  • Administering training and certification programs to both new and existing service technicians.
  • Managing the regions P3 safety program and ensures all monthly/annual goals are met.
  • Assisting customers daily, including responding to inquiries and concerns.
  • Developing all bids/quotes for service jobs ensuring that they meet all regulatory standards and also allow Sapp Bros. to make a reasonable profit on the service.
  • Managing the on-call rotation schedule and fills in as needed based on staffing levels.
  • Providing accurate accounting of service inventory for trucks and warehouse, ensuring appropriate quantities are on-hand to meet service requirements while also working to minimize and harmonize inventory across the region.
  • Reviewing customer invoicing and helping office staff ensure proper billing takes place.
  • Keeping all required documentation up to date, including certifications, State and Federal forms, maintenance reports, employee certifications, etc...
  • Working with the Regional and Corporate Management teams to schedule and administer any required safety meetings and ensure that all team member exhibit a safety focused mentality in all their daily activities.
  • Providing direction to service technicians regarding effective approaches to address problems during their shift and is the lead contact for addressing any customer issues.
  • Performing equipment installations and repairs.
  • Overseeing yard set-up and tank replacements while ensuring safe and efficient equipment operations.
  • Performing all the duties pertaining to a propane delivery driver as business conditions require.
  • Filling propane tanks as needed and adheres to all defined safety standards.
  • Ensuring that all operations follow State and Federal Laws and Regulations, as well as the policies of Sapp Bros.
  • Representing Sapp Bros. to our customers, the public and the Petroleum Industry in a professional manner at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications for this position include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associates degree preferred
  • Minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in the Propane/Fuel Industry.
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL) class B or C; Hazmat, Airbrakes, and Tanker endorsement preferred.
  • Current D.O.T. physical examination card.
  • An excellent driving and safety record.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Hard working person with a proven history of excellent work ethic.
