Summary

The Commercial Lender position is responsible for managing and growing an existing loan portfolio primarily comprised of commercial credits. Primary responsibilities would include client relationship management, growing the loan portfolio in a profitable manner, managing credit risk, and working within the policies and procedures of the bank.

To perform this job successfully the right candidate must be able to carry out these functions.

  • Communicate regularly and effectively with existing customers to anticipate any needs the client may have and prevent any issues that could be detrimental to the relationship.
  • Effectively and routinely solicit new credit relationships and accounts including deposit accounts. Negotiate loan terms with clients, perform credit analysis/reviews of credit requests, and determine effective repayment plans.
  • Manage risk within the existing portfolio by addressing any specific customer situations with tact and effective action plans, conduct site reviews, and if needed conduct own collections.
  • Work effectively with the bank's senior lender and other support resources within the bank such as compliance, management, and operations as needed regarding any loan related situations/processes/procedures.
  • Create, manage, and maintain credit files for portfolio.
  • Participate in various community and civic activities on behalf of the bank.
  • Work within all laws, regulations, policies and procedures outlined by all regulatory policies and the bank.
  • Act as a team member who works towards a common mission with the shared goals of other bank employees and the bank shareholders.

Skills Needed

  • 4-5 years of commercial lending experience with experience in commercial real estate, commercial lines of credit, and some consumer loans.
  • Outgoing personality with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Multiple years experience of negotiating loan terms directly with clients.
  • Experience with working with weak credits or workouts.
  • Strong ability to request, analyze, and interpret for the purposes of credit analysis various financial forms including personal financial statements, tax returns, K-1s, income statements, balance sheets, etc.
  • Knowledge of federal and state lending laws and regulations.
  • Ability to work in a goal oriented environment.
  • SBA experienced preferred.

Education Needed

  • Bachelor degree in finance or accounting preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
