As the company's second line of defense, Corporate Risk - or Independent Risk Management - provides independent oversight of risk-taking activities. Independent Risk Management establishes and maintains Wells Fargo's risk management program and provides oversight, including challenges to and independent assessment of, the frontline's execution of its risk management responsibilities. We manage risk according to the Risk Management Framework and ensure all employees understand their individual accountability for managing risk. Corporate Risk roles depend on a variety of skills, including: Data analysis and synthesis, root cause analysis, change management, process management & execution, risk governance, risk strategy, risk identification & assessment, risk prevention, controls & mitigation, risk monitoring, reporting & escalation, risk systems & technology.

The Financial Crimes Risk Management (FCRM) group within the Corporate Compliance organization is the independent risk management function for the financial crimes risk disciplines which include BSA/AML, Sanctions, OFAC, and Anti-Bribery and Corruption. FCRM owns the Global Financial Crimes Risk Management (FCRM) Program that documents how FCRM manages financial crimes risk in a comprehensive and effective manner to protect the Company and its reputation.

The FCRM Product Governance Team is responsible for establishing the financial crimes new business initiative risk management framework and providing oversight and guidance to businesses and groups as they perform and document assessments of initiatives. These oversight activities include reviews of assessments of specific initiatives, especially new and modified products and services, performed on an ongoing basis to independently evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of businesses' assessments of financial crimes risk and mitigating controls.

We currently have an opportunity on our FCRM Product Governance Team for an experienced individual contributor to lead the oversight activities related to new and modified products and services associated with the areas of asset management, sophisticated financing arrangements, and securities related activities. As an integral contributing member of the FCRM Product Governance Team, you will be responsible for independent and critical reviews of assessments prior to consideration for approval of the initiative at the IRM level.



Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in risk management (includes compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, business process management) or 7+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 5+ years must include direct experience in risk management

  • 6+ years of BSA/AML experience
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
  • Ability to develop and manage business relationships



Other Desired Qualifications
  • A BS/BA degree or higher, especially in finance, economics, law, engineering, or systems technology
  • Knowledge and understanding of brokerage, asset management, capital finance or complex finance and investment strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate complex programs and initiatives and provide credible challenge
  • Demonstrated experience with issue resolution including root cause analysis, mitigation plans and remediation activities
  • 6+ years of securities, brokerage or complex financing experience
  • Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), or equivalent
  • Knowledge and understanding of financial crimes monitoring and/or investigation

  • Ability to travel up to 5% of the time

The salary range displayed below is based on a Full-time 40 hour a week schedule.
