About the Role
The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City (FRBKC) is seeking a Business Analyst to join the Post Payment Modernization Initiative (PPMI). PPMI is an initiative to implement a modern cloud-based payments platform for the United States Treasury. The modern platform will provide numerous Treasury business capabilities.
This position partners with various stakeholders, including subject matter experts, executives, operational users, and technical staff to influence the application vision, roadmap, and drive scope. Additionally, this position analyzes, elicits, and documents requirements associated with defined scope and objectives as well as helps to manage a product backlog and assists leadership and Treasury Product Owner in making informed decisions on priorities and features.
Key Activities:
- Analyzes business problems and/or proposed enhancements to technology solutions while ensuring alignment with overall product vision and objectives.
- Provides verbal or written recommendation on feasibility of incorporating or enhancing technology solutions based on business data, market knowledge, and impacts to other stakeholders and technology solutions.
- Identifies, reconciles, and resolves conflicting perspectives of various stakeholders and impacts to technology solutions.
- Collaborates with various stakeholders (internal and external) including Treasury Product Owner and technology staff to influence and/or identify the product's business value, vision, and scope.
- Partners with technical staff by responding to questions regarding requirements, functionality, and data to determine and clarify business value of appropriate technology solutions.
- Analyzes, develops, and documents clearly defined functional and non-functional user stories and behavior driven scenarios to meet business needs.
- Identifies gaps or underlying issues through analysis of the business problem and associated requirements to ensure identification of risks, customer, and enterprise impact.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor's degree specializing in computer science, information technology, project management, business administration, or closely related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of directly related education and/or experience.
- Incumbent must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, unless the Bank grants an accommodation based on a medical condition or sincerely held religious belief.
- Senior or advanced understanding of subject. Has in depth or specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in discipline.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate and explain complex technical concepts to non-technical individuals.
- Agile experience preferred
